Spurs to make £5m bid that makes VERY GOOD SENSE: He can fill the MIDFIELD hole!

This source has suggested that Juande Ramos intends on swooping for a prized asset of an arch-rival, who are in severe financial dire straits!

Tottenham are ready to take advantage of a West Ham ‘fire sale’ with a £2.5m bid for Scott Parker.
Financial worries will force the Hammers to consider any offers for leading players in the January transfer window.

Many Tottenham fans have been up in arms at the ineffectiveness of the their central midfielders, with Jermaine Jenas being rightfully the brunt of most of their anger. Scott Parker is a fantastic player, and although injury has greatly affected his chances of another shot at an international call-up, the former Chelsea man could be the perfect solution for Ramos.

As this report points out, he could be sewn up for a small fee, as West Ham begin to deal with their budget being cut drastically after their Icelandic owners were greatly affected by the country’s financial meltdown. One thing that I think this report doesn’t really take into account, is that if Zola does sell, he and the club as a whole won’t be ripped off. Therefore, it could take a bid nearer £5m to persuade the east London club to sell Parker.

Do Spurs fans think that the midfield area is in need of improving, or are there other more urgent gaps to fill in the club’s squad?
