Spurs to make £5m bid that makes VERY GOOD SENSE: He can fill the MIDFIELD hole!
by Mr Comfort on October 20th, 2008This source has suggested that Juande Ramos intends on swooping for a prized asset of an arch-rival, who are in severe financial dire straits!
Tottenham are ready to take advantage of a West Ham ‘fire sale’ with a £2.5m bid for Scott Parker.
Financial worries will force the Hammers to consider any offers for leading players in the January transfer window.
And Spurs boss Juande Ramos has identified boyhood Spurs fan Parker as a midfield target. (The People)
Many Tottenham fans have been up in arms at the ineffectiveness of the their central midfielders, with Jermaine Jenas being rightfully the brunt of most of their anger. Scott Parker is a fantastic player, and although injury has greatly affected his chances of another shot at an international call-up, the former Chelsea man could be the perfect solution for Ramos.
As this report points out, he could be sewn up for a small fee, as West Ham begin to deal with their budget being cut drastically after their Icelandic owners were greatly affected by the country’s financial meltdown. One thing that I think this report doesn’t really take into account, is that if Zola does sell, he and the club as a whole won’t be ripped off. Therefore, it could take a bid nearer £5m to persuade the east London club to sell Parker.
Do Spurs fans think that the midfield area is in need of improving, or are there other more urgent gaps to fill in the club’s squad?

Parker has turned us down at least twice in the past so have no reasons to believe he might say yes next time.

we could buy messy and he wouldent fit in our league is to fast and stinks of drugs .When a lad i no playing amatuer rugby takes tablets to boost is teams energy and wins promotion twice and are top of there new division .Says it all and were did he get this energy boosting drug , from a prem physio is the answer its shocking and proves what a differents it make because without them is team had lost six games ,are you hearing this mr ramos .This physio that gave this lad these tablets and told him is team take them he called them energy supplements it turned out to be ephedrine a banned substance that can kill heart attacks bad backs and strokes . thats why i reported them to uk sport because my niece whas taking these to lose weight and she stared complaining of a bad back.I had read a girl of twenty one died with these tablets she starved to death my niece is now 8 stone she whas 10stone she looks ill and i dont bother telling her because she is getting married and doesent want to gain weight. So when spurs get beat i can tell if a team is taking this drug the red faces only on white players i no but the thin sunken jaw is a give away and the wasp like energy levels were players can run allday. this drug is being used at half time to boost the tempo of teams to dominate when the other team tires but when the other team is also on this drug anyone can win and this is why results are baffling punters but not me ,we need to ditch this baby food and report what i said to the FA or cheats will prosber and hull being third will happen again.

I was a premiership physio once and some git reported me to UK Sport, just because I had a few spare tabs left over and gave them to my mate on a rugby team.
If I ever catch that weaseling runt, I’ll…

Parker has hardly set the world alight at west ham he is always inhured so i suppose he could keep ledley company in the psyhio’s room. RE KENNY i put £1,000 on us to be relegated before the stoke game and got 5/1, so when that fateful day arrives i may no longer have a premiership team anymore but i will have a nice wad of cash
Wadsy - October 21st, 2008 at 12:20 pm
No way this will happen, Parker despite what appears on sites is not a Spurs fan, I can tell you 110% he is a Gooner, I know this for a fact as he told me himself, thats why he turned us down in the past.

Wadsy - October 21st, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Yep there is that as well, plus like Ledley King his bones are rubbish, won’t play past 30.
Mexican Spur - October 21st, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Ledley >>King won’t play past 28.
Go and get Riquelme. He’ll make the midfield balanced and provide the service for the likes of Bent, Pav, GDS
Mexican Spur - October 21st, 2008 at 3:47 pm
Ah, and while I am at it on here, Humberto Suazo. Chilean, plays for Monterrey and is well good enougha striker (Wayne Rooney type) for the Premiership.

I AGREE HUMBERTO IS IN THAT BUSY STRONG NEVER SAY DIE ROONEY TEVEZ TYPE OF MOULD THAT WE NEED ..AND RIQUELME IS A MASTERMIND. PLUS ALBEDA FROM VALENCIA SOLID DMF, PLUS EITHER VEDAD IBISEVIC OR NIKOLA KALINIC TWO YOUNG POTENTIAL PROLIFIC GOALSCORERS BUT WHO AM I KIDDING THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE AT SPURS ARE RETARDS.
Mexican Spur - October 21st, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Creativity in midfield is what we are missing the most. Strikers are only as good as the suppliers let them be. Bent, Pav, anyone else (inc Berbaoff) will not score goals if they don’t get the ball enough in positions to score. Thought it was called Association Football me. Jenas et al have lost the plot on that.
Mexican Spur - October 21st, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Speaking of Jenas, he’d be the first name on my Sales list for January. Should have been gone 3 years ago. Waste of space.
Mexican Spur - October 21st, 2008 at 4:16 pm
And talking of Suazo. Cost would = no more than 6m Salary ’bout 30K per week. Would snap off Levy’s arm if he were offered that
Speaking of Riquelme, he is floundering in no man’s land in Boca Jrs. Needs to revitalise himself. same 6m forhim, but salary much higher. Worth it?
Me thinks yes, if only short term.
Mexican Spur - October 21st, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Ah, and both Riquelme and Suazo speak Spanish. Them plus GDS, Gus and Ramos, why wait for Ramos to learn our wonderfully difficult language? R Benitez didn’t. Stacked the team out with Spaniards to help him on his way. “nd in the league and in the CL right now? Tell me we can’t do that with the resources we have? Tell me Liverpool have more ability to negotiate in transfers than we do? If they were mugs enought o pay 20.3m for RK, then I’d say we are leagues in front on that score.
Lillywhite London - October 21st, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Parker would be an improvement on Zokora but Zokora cannot play football so thts’s not saying much… We all know he’s an athlete and not much else.
Zokora was another inspired Comolli signing along with Kaboul, KPB, Bent and Taraabt which when you add it up is over 40 million pounds of players not good enough for the Prem. Great work!!
Wenger seems to think even with this summer’s transfer fiasco, that Comolli is “quality”… Oh well, you can have him back along with the players i just listed in that case Mr Wenger. Also let him sell Adebayor, Van Persie and i dunno… Fabregas too and bring in an unproven Russian and a kid on loan from Utd to replace them, and see how you like it!!
Oh yeah, Jenas.
The first thing that should happen with Jenas is take the captain’s arm band off him to start with and do not allow him to take any more free kicks. He was pants at them last season and he obviously hasn’t been working on them since… Against Stoke we all knew that both of his kicks would end up with a Stoke goal kick and they did. It was just so pathetic it wasn’t true…
Modric should be given a chance with them and Bentley, if he’s on. Jenas is far too inconsistent to captain anyone let alone a big club like Spurs in a crisis.
Parker woule be a gamble cos of injuries but if he’s fit, i can’t think of anyone we’ve currently got who would be better in that position… not sure on that one but we could do worse, we probably have!!
