by Mr Comfort on October 21st, 2008It’s that time of the year when we start to talk about players of the year and such like. With that in mind, the nominations have been sent out for the FIFPro World XI Players Awards.
Chelsea lead the way in England in nominations for the FIFPro World XI Players Awards despite finishing runners-up to Manchester United in the Champions League and Premier League.
The Premier League attracted the most nominees with 21, followed by the Spanish Primera Liga with 18. Kaka, who won the individual honour in season 2006-2007, is again among the nominees.
The final World XI and the FIFPro World Player of the Year will be announced on October 27. (Northampton Echo)

Now I love the big nosed scarecrow but how Van Der Sar can be considered a top class keeper is beyond me, loathe to admit it but Reina has been the form keeper in the Premiership, keeping just outside the top-3 for the last couple of years. He can feel unlucky not to make this shortlist, especially with Edwin on it.

wheres REINA??? hows does boruc and van der sar get in??? the united defence is strong, the keeper is a weak link. i may be biased as im a LIVERPOOL fan, but CARRAGHER is consistent year in year out, thats why i dont understand zambrotta and puyol who both aint consistent. RONALDO yes RONALDO of man u should get the main award due to being the most outstandin player last season, and thats comin from a scouser.
