According to this source, Wenger and a number of other interested parties are looking to make a move for this young Italian hotshot.
Italy Under-21 International Mario Balotelli is still reportedly being chased by Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, who are all keen to bring the Inter Milan striker to England.
18-year-old Balotelli, who was born to a Ghanaian family before being put up for adoption, passed up the opportunity to play for Ghana in the summer after receiving a call-up to the national squad.
The Nerazzurri front-man is highly thought of in Italy, and was made an Italian citizen on his 18th birthday in August, with Pierluigi Casiraghi the Italy under-21 coach already handing Balotelli 3caps, which has seen the San Siro starlet score three times.
Which would leave the Gunners and Liverpool to fight it out for the talented youngster should he decide to leave Italy for Anfield or the Emirates. (Premiershiplatest.com)
If this were to happen, I think the asking price would have to come down considerably. Apparently valued somewhere in the region of £14m by his Serie A employers, clearly Arsene rarely splashes the cash. To do so for this teenager may not be likely, but he is the kind of player that suits the Arsenal style of play.
He is quick and scares the life out of defenders with his unpredictable style. In his short career to date, he has continually surprised the fans and coaching staff with his maturity and speed of development, so he is one for the future and his desire to stay at the San Siro will depend on how much playing time he gets under new boss Jose Mourinho. The latter has a tough job keeping Mario happy, given the array of striking talent the Inter Milan manager has at his disposal.
Do Gunners fans think that this source could be right about Wenger’s interest, and could it result in a bid to bring Super Mario to the Emirates?
