How will Newcastle’s criminal be received by Sunderland fans? Hmm…
by stresster on October 22nd, 2008The Magpies are unbeaten in nine matches against their arch-rivals on Wearside, and Joe Kinnear will be confident that they can make it ten when the two teams meet at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. 2-2 draws with Everton and Manchester City have restored confidence, especially as the latter point was achieved despite playing with ten men for most of the match. Is another dismissal on the cards when Newcastle meet Sunderland this weekend?
After all, Setanta bring us news that Joey Barton could be in line for a start against Roy Keane’s men, which would certainly mean the most hostile of receptions from Black Cats supporters. After all, they hardly need an excuse to boo the team they call the Mags (amongst other things) and the midfielder would surely come in for an unprecedented amount of stick.
Asked if the intensity of the derby might be an issue for Barton, Kinnear replied: “Well, that is a thought, yeah, that has already gone through my head.
“I am going to sit down with Joey and explain that to him, like you do with all players.
“I want players to play in a certain style and give everything they have got. He’s a whole-hearted player and he’s got a lot of ability as well.
“Maybe people think about him completely differently and forget about the ability he has got.
“Joey’s one of the best finishers at the club, believe it or not.”
It is clear Kinnear rates Barton highly, as he added: “He’s got a big heart and is a good character - and on top of that, he can play.”
Newcastle supporters, do you think that Barton should be back in the team for this match, or is it worth sticking with the same midfield players that have helped the team’s mini-revival? After all, the visitors have a tough enough job silencing the home fans, let alone with a player in their midst who has such an infamous past.

I think Newcastle should have got rid of him as he is a waste of space. Yes maybe he is a good footballer but he is a thug and should not be on a football pitch earning thousands of pounds a week where children see him as somebody to look up to. Lets face it he should have been sent down for longer especially when he did the same to his own team mate. Do Newcastle fans really want this idiot in their team? well the ones I work with don’t.

I dont agree at all , how can you say he shouldnt be doin what he is best doin and thats playin football. Im prepared to give him last chance in Nerwcastle anyway and what better way to repay fans than scoring against the sunderland.
If joey is not let play football it will destroy him and he will become much worse as a human being. give him last chance and just see
So if he gets sent off dont judge him because some the most softest players have got red cards he is a footballer who gives 100% every match

“So if he gets sent off dont judge him because some the most softest players have got red cards”
dont assume because he has a bad diciplinary record and beats up teenagers that he is “hard”.
he is a coward and a sad excuse for a human being who has spat in the face of everyone who has given him this celebrity lifestyle. he is a shit stain on society and more undeserving of his status than any other player i can think of.
is this the LAST chance you are going to give him? because to me he has blown every other last chance he has had. including a couple at ur club

I never said he was hard but he wont pull out of tackle guaranteed….
And he got this status as being a top paid professional cause bhe is a magnificent player its just shitbags like you dont appreciate cause he battered a cheeky cunt , which most ppl would of done if they had to put up the abuse this guy does. he is a great player and dickheads like you will start running their mouth next time he gets booked sayin ” bartons at it again” who do u support bannanas
BringBackBananas - October 22nd, 2008 at 1:31 pm
man city. so i have seen first hand his “magnificent” ability as a footballer
and his affect on his teamates around him
and dont start calling me names bollox, i know a footballer when i see one. and i know a tough tackling midfielder too, and accept these players may get booked for the occasional mistimed tackle.
but i dont class his studs in the bolloxs lunge at etuhu, or his tackle on nasri and then his dive 2 minutes later to get a player booked and then laugh about it in his last appearence as a “footballer”, as misdemeaners of your average permiership player.
that is just “bartons at it again”. and if he does come back nd start acting like a cunt again, i will be running my mouth of along with majority of other football fans to get him out of the game.
but dont get me wrong, i sympathise with newcastle on this one as i dont believe they should have sacked him because of his worth as an asset. the blame falls with fat sam for having no morals and buying him, and the FA for being soft arses

Well said bananas he is a typical thick geordie who probably doesn’t go to games, lets face it Newcastle have no morals and it looks like some of these so called fans don’t either. I am pleased i work with some who actually go to games and talk sense they all believe he should be sacked.
