£19m Arsenal TARGET issues come and get me plea: Will Wenger swoop?
by Mr Comfort on October 23rd, 2008The latest words attributed to this long-term Gunners target sound like an exit speech, but is anyone listening?

Klaas Jan Huntelaar claims his focus is on Ajax rather than a future move, but it is clear he feels this season represents the chance to catch the eye of a big club.
The Dutch forward is one of the most vaunted players in European football and Ajax did superbly to fend off interest in his services over the summer.
Ajax are likely to have to relent to the forward’s wishes next summer, but it appears as if he will remain in Amsterdam for the remainder of the season.
”I am focusing on Ajax now and want to be champion this year,” Huntelaar said on Setanta Sports News. “That is my focus and we will see after that.
”Everyone wants to play at the highest level, me included, but first I want a good season at Ajax and then we will see what happens.” (Setanta Sports)
When someone says “I want a good season and then we will see what happens”, they are in effect saying that they don’t want to be there much longer. Also he is stating, quite accurately but slightly insultingly, that playing at Ajax doesn’t equate to playing at the highest level, another slap in the face for his Dutch employers.
Whichever way you look at it, when you’re a top player who plays outside the top four leagues (Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga), you will sooner or later want to move on to bigger and better things, this is equally true of the likes of Karim Benzema. Huntelaar is a fantastic finisher who wants to try his luck outside the average Eredvisie, Wenger is known to be a fan, but will he make a move for the striker? Do Gunners fans see Huntelaar as potential buy or do they have all the firepower they need?

I saw huntelaar play against norway, i did not see arsenal quality in him. Get a centerback and a defensive midfielder instead!

This is all dreamland as usual!!! Your blog is full of spurious bull shit. Wenger already made it plain that he will only add players if he feels the team needs it and at the same time he has stated that he rates his young players and is happy with the squad. That is Wenger speak for. “Any money the club makes is going into mine and the director’s pockets and I will continue to run Arsenal as a selling club. We will continue to develop our young kids into world class players that we can sell when they mature into the real deal, maximising our profits and allow me and the board to get richer. Just continue to pay the highest seat prices in the league to watch us achieve mediocrity as far as silverware is concerned and be prepared to day goodbye to Fabregas and any other world class player who are ready to leave the Club and go somewhere where they have a grater chance to win trophies!!”
The sooner that us gooners get used to this scenario, the less we will become dissapointed with our results and our eventual slide out of the top four and too far away from the Big EPL clubs to ever catch up for a long time. Enjoy the style of our football and be entertained by the skill of our young players as they are prepared for sale to the Big successful clubs of Europe. When the Chairman says he has Arsenal blood running through his veins, he should really be saying that he has Arsenal’s supporter’s money running through his Bank a/c. Enough said.

Karim Benzema will be a marvelous bargain. We should break the bank for him but Huntelaar is no way near Arsenal’s quality. Anyhow, we don’t need him, tho. I understands that Adebayor is being a piece of shitte in the team. Maybe Wenger can swap him with Thierry Henry or Samuel Eto’o in order to add some valuable experience in the team. King Henry & Robin works really well, remember ? Then we have Eduardo, Vela & Walcott as a backup & of course they can compete for first team spot or play in a different position but i would prefer Walcott to play as a striker not winger. A must buy is, a defending midfielder & a center back. Yaya Toure & Micah Richards fits the bill & without doubt will complete our team to compete accordingly in BPL & Europe, right ? Of course, yes !!!!!
Cheers

you have all failed 2 mention we also have bendter as a back up striker
patrick (olc) - October 25th, 2008 at 12:52 am
i say we shud keep EA25 period! he is a very good striker with excellent ball control for a lanky fella. he gets others in the game and that is somehow quite important with the way we play (passing and more passing)……he will deliver for the team…..we just have to support the team as a whole.
Carly's United Blog - October 25th, 2008 at 2:40 am
I was praying United DIDN’T buy him, luckily we took the Berbatov route. Huntelaar has made Ajax his first real ‘home’ where he feels at ease, with regular appearances and doing something right - it took him until he was 24 to do this !!!
He was sent to Heerenveen by Ajax the first time he was there because he was hopeless. They sent him back and so it goes on.
As an international he has made 13 appearances I think, 9 as substitute !!
He scored 3 goals !!
Romania (woooo hooooo my team !!) made him look so ordinary and average thanks to Dorin Goian who took him out the game in the Euro 2008 qualifiers !
They talk about all the “interest” in him during the summer - I ask……from who ?
Real Madrid, Barca and all the other big time teams didn’t offfer a carot for him !
If The Arse want to pay £19m for him then go ahead, I can think of better things to spend £19m on, like shoes, lol.
