Spurs consider £12.5m move for ENGLAND international!
by Mr Comfort on October 23rd, 2008This source cleverly works out that the cost of signing this veteran would essentially make the potential free transfer an expensive price to pay!
Don’t forget to check out Online Football Manager!
Heskey could cost Tottenham £12million - at least!
The England international striker is out of contract at the JJB Stadium in the summer, and will either leave at the end of the season or in the January transfer window.
Whichever, if Juande Ramos wants to add the powerful forward to his squad at Tottenham Hotspur, the 30-year-old is still likely to cost the Londoners a fair packet.
Heskey’s reported wage demands of £80,000-per-week over a three-year contract equates to a little under £12.5million, which is obviously something the Spurs paymasters will have to consider. (fansfc.co.uk)
So there you have it, a free signing sounds good on paper, but when that out-of-contract player demands an astronomical wage packet, it makes you kind of wish you hadn’t bothered. In all likelihood, these wage demands will end up scaring everyone off, so expect Middlesbrough to opt for a move for the former Liverpool man! Just how much do Tottenham fans NOT want this to happen?!

No, no, no, no, no. We already have 3 strikers who don’t score, we don’t need or want another. Or maybe he and Pavlyuchenko will compete to see who does the least in a game.

I can’t think of anyone who’d want to take a step down to play for us… yes, at present, we’re less even desirable than the likes of Stoke, Wigan and Hull..

One of our major problems = lack of goals
Even I can see this would be a waste of money

Spurs do not need another forward that doesn’t know where the net is. Get Pekhard back from Southampton & try him up front with Campball. Bring Sherringham back to coach them.
Teach Ramos to throw tea cups about & show him what 4 4 2 is about.

Going down. Going down. Going down.
Spurs are rubbish through and through.
They haven’t got a clue how to run / manage a team let alone pick the right players, keep the players they need to keep etc.
It was embarrasing watching them last night. And seriously depressing.

sorry but i think that under the current circumstance(and that is that NO spurs players look capable of putting up a fight or having any heart) that heskey would be do a good job.maybe a bit expensive mind you given that he is now flavour of the month, but the fact remains that spurs have no presence in their team and heskey for all his faults has consistently got the best out of his partners.players like dos santos, modric, bentley would have a target who they could play the ball to and know that they can join him, without fear of the ball coming straight back.desperate times lead to desperate measures…simple.

Spurs could do with any striker right now. I recommend Larry Testicle from Nancy

do you remember the last season when we had a good start?
it was three years ago
and do you know why?
because we had a centre mid that gets in the nitty gritty, breaks up play and tackles to the final whstle which was davids when he was peforming well and a centre mid that could put passes into the strikers feet which was carrick
and a striker that could score, keane and defoe
modric, jenas and zokora are load of sissys that are scared to get in the nitty gritty and cant pass and bent and pavly whatever his name is, cant hit a barn door
what we need is not just a striker that can score we need a midfielder that has presence like gattuso or a roy keane figure, we need a nutter basicly and we need carrick back in a spurs shirt

Totally agree with Adam dude … Spurs need some nutteroos…11 of them.. bad boys… Vinnie and Keane style… intimidate the bollocks off the opposition.. you know Savage style..!!! Thatcher… Davies [BW] Neill [WH] buy ‘em all… just stick ‘em in the team and tell them to get at it… give ‘em what for… Diouf too… anyone that’s mean, nasty and in yer face…..tell ‘em to never mind the ball, just get on with the game…oh Taylor too [NUtd]… oh and let’s not forget Barton…. and then there is, well there’s loads of non football playing bad boys out there…
