Tottenham midfielder gets the starting XI axe from his coach: Was he being TOO candid with his comments?

A developing story is coming out of London that one of Tottenham’s summer signings could be in Juande Ramos’ “bad” list. His recent comments about his coach and his position on the squad might have something to do with that!

David Bentley has been dropped from the Tottenham Hotspur squad for the match against Udinese in the Uefa Cup this evening, a match which the English side are currently losing.

The midfielder was critical of the team and Juande Ramos’s tactics this week and has been left out despite being fit and travelling with the squad to Italy. Last month, he was dropped from the England squad and said he believed the reason behind Fabio Capello’s decision was that he had been played out of position for Tottenham.

The right winger shook his head when Juande Ramos, the Tottenham head coach, asked him to play at right back when he came on as a substitute during the 1-0 defeat by Hull City last month, and has been employed in several positions by the Spaniard this season. (The Times)

Once again, a Spur star is in the news for all the wrong reasons. David Bentley made the trip to Italy with the club, but he wasn’t in the starting XI when the club took the field against Udinese. If his recent comments about Ramos playing him out of position are true, the Spurs could be set to lose another one of their big name players. It appears that the Spaniard isn’t messing around any longer.
