Manchester United manager backs former midfielder for Seria A success: He might be the only one!

Few, if any, ever expected this day to come. After leaving La Liga for the lucrative money in the United States, David Beckham has one again had a change of heart. It appears that money and fame aren’t the only things that make the England midfielder tick. He apparently wants to play for a team that matters.

Most believe the move is nothing but a marketing ploy by AC Milan — a club that is fighting to keep their international fanbase in the once-proud Seria A — to stay in the international spotlight. But while the rest of the world bashes Beckham, one former coach believes the move is good for all parties involved.

”It is hardly a surprise,” said Ferguson, who sold Beckham to Real Madrid in 2003.

”Going to the United States does not get you the kind of football he is used to.

”It is not the right level of football, therefore coming back into the mainstream of the game is not a surprise.

”People have been edging towards that quite a while now.” (ESPNSoccernet)

This is surprising to see Sir Alex in Beckham’s corner after all, he is the same manager that moved the midfield wizard to Real Madrid when he thought Beckham was all but done in the Premier League.

Many have doubted Beckham over the years, but like most, those doubts only seem to spur the England ace to keep playing his best.
