Mark Hughes has more money than he knows what to do with and this latest target would really push the Eastlands side towards the Champions League places!
Spanish superstar David Villa is the name at the top of Manchester City’s shopping list – even though he could cost £40million!
Boss Mark Hughes sent his spies to watch Villa in action for club and country in the past few days for a detailed dossier on him before he asks his money men for the cash.
Villa (below) is one of the few world stars who City could tempt because his club Valencia are NOT in the Champions League – although they are top of La Liga at the moment. (The People)
It’s a cliché I know but David Villa scores goals for fun. Having scored 20+ goals in six of the last seven seasons, the Valencia man has started this term with a bang scoring eight goals in seven matches but has been consistently linked with a move away from the La Liga side after a fantastic Euro 2008 campaign. And given the finances available to Mark Hughes, a bid from Manchester City could well be forthcoming, but would Villa accept it? Do City fans think they could persuade the Spanish international to sign for the club?
