Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool players feature in FifPro World XI
by stresster on October 27th, 2008Many say that the Premier League is the strongest division in Europe, although the English top flight could only match the Primera Liga in terms of the players selected for the FifPro World XI today. 57,500 players in 42 countries have decided that the below footballers are the best on the planet - do you agree with the selections?
The Guardian reports that five players from the Premier League made the line-up:
2007-08 FifPro World XI
Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)
Defenders: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), John Terry (Chelsea), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United)
Midfielders: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Xavi (Barcelona), Kaka (Milan).
Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Fernando Torres (Liverpool), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)
Well done to Cristiano Ronaldo, who was named the Footballer of the Year after amassing the most votes altogether. Although this award is not quite as prestigious as the Ballon d’Or or the FIFA World Player of the Year, it’s a yardstick which indicates that the Manchester United number seven is likely to walk away with a whole collection of silverware over the next month or two.
Do you agree with the above XI or are there one or two glaring omissions?

Ronaldo, as a person he seems like an utter c**t good footballer, but utter c**t, and terry and ferdinand do not warrant their places. They appear to be good because of the players they have in front of them. Obviously i am biased and think Carragher should be in there, but going off their respective teams achievements i think Carvalho and Vidic are much, much better defenders. I despise terry and ferdinand for all they represent, over-paid, over-hyped, under-skilled donkeys who bawl at the ref when they don’t get their way. Look at terry’s stamp yesterday and the elbow he tried on Reina. As for ferdinand, just look at the video of him booting the ball into his own fans for no reason and hitting the woman in the face and for me that about sums him up.

Is nobody else sick of John Terrys attitude?? As an Englishman i’m really not happy about having someone like him as England captain

In a few years time you will see Agger, Skrtel and Babel all up there in that team.
Absolutely no doubt!!!

I totaly agree with you 9torres Gerrard should be England captain.
If he can’t cope with the pressure on a club match(Liverpool Vs Chelsea)
How could he cope if England were 1nil down in a World Cup Final!!!
