Spurs planning Transfer COUP of the SEASON: This STAR could help the club beat the drop!
by Mr Comfort on October 27th, 2008News filtering through the grapevine this morning is startling to say the least and if Harry pulls this move off then he could have secured the coup of the season, but does this star still have what it takes?

New Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will attempt to beat AC Milan to the loan signing of David Beckham. (Daily Star)
The 20 minute cameo from Becks against Kazakhstan was pretty impressive and whilst it was against low quality opposition it did show us that he still has the ability to perform on the international stage. Apparently the former Manchester United man was on the wish list before Redknapp arrived and now he has maybe he could have the ability to persuade the superstar footballer to return to the Premier League. Do Spurs fans like the idea of signing Beckham on a short term loan contract?

Yes i think a move for him would be a decent one. Yes we would have to cover some of his massive wages (possibly all) but there would be no transfer fee and we would have him for about 4 months, and 4 crucial months. He is a leader and whilst he doesn’t have the legs for week in week out football he can turn a game on its head and could help make our midfield more creative.

just dont see him as someone we need, right wingers arent exactly something we have been missing and u cant tell me he will put his heart and soul into a team that he will only be with for a few moths

In August I would have found the suggestion ludicrous - why bring in a short term guy who is past his best? Now I’d bring in anyone who can walk and chew gum at the same time. Beckham does the one thing Lennon and Bentley fail to do - consistently cross the ball with accuracy and vision. I think Beckham would be a good provider for our Russian hitman as well as Darren Bent (until we part-exchange him with Defoe).

fuck beckham harry bing in diarra from cash strapped pompey and of course get back down the lane jermaine DEFOE COME ON U YIDS WERE BACK
biiliospur - October 27th, 2008 at 9:47 am
whatever opinions are on becks he can still deliver………deadball and crosses
and its absurd to ignore his experience in pressure games
bentley cross against bolton for goal same deal, we would like defoe back but a strong midfielder for modric to work off…….and a ledley type to ease his knee problem in repetitive games,
if spurs are to seriously contend at the top of the EPL we need all guns firing and control and zone play on par with liverpool /chelsea over a season not just one game, etc
with confidence and the Redknapp buzz who knows!!

Why are spuds using the media to illegally tap up players from different clubs? And biilio, “seriously contend at the top of the EPL”? Sure, when in a few years time you might be able to claw your way back to Premier League, that is.

Dirk Kuyt's Next Door Neighbor - October 27th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
This is unequivocally retarded.
The whole reason that Beckham, Capello and LAG want him to go to Milan is because nobody in the sport has a better record of getting the best out of aging players and maintaining their fitness than the Milan Lab. Spurs’ medical team can’t even glue Ledley King back together.
