‘We’re back in the title race’ claims Arsenal forward: Can they put Tottenham to the sword on Wednesday?
by stresster on October 27th, 2008What a North London derby we have in store this week! Arsene Wenger must have mixed feelings about Juande Ramos leaving White Hart Lane and Harry Redknapp arriving as Tottenham’s new manager at the weekend. His Arsenal team might well find Spurs a tougher proposition on Wednesday night than they would have been a week ago, although one of his players has insisted that the Gunners are back in the thick of things as far as the title is concerned.
The Daily Mirror reports that Emmanuel Adebayor, the man who is reportedly in love with Arsenal, reckons that the team proved at Upton Park that they have what it takes to win the Premier League. It was certainly a hard-fought victory for the visitors, who had to wait until late in the match to achieve the breakthrough. Nevertheless, with three points and a clean sheet to boot, the striker is now focused on landing another win against Spurs.
Adebayor said: “We’re back in the title race. We believe we can win the title but we have to win games like this.
“We had something to prove, to come to Upton Park and win.
“We knew it was going to be very difficult. It was and we were getting frustrated.
“But now we must focus on the derby versus Spurs.”
It’s likely that Adebayor will start Wednesday’s match, especially as the forward made all the difference against West Ham after coming off the substitute’s bench. With Eduardo set to return to the frame, can Arsenal win the Premier League this season or will they fall short, considering there are likely to be three other teams going for the title this term?

Not sure arsenal will be there at the end they do seem to be weaker than the rest and if ever a team were going to drop points its going to be them mainly because they seem to have a young team who might not be able to close a game down when needed to, one thing is sure it’s going to be even tighter with the gap closing all the time on sixth, fifth&fourth. What could also hamper them is the amount of derbys they have compaired to the others.time will tell.City could well be the one to break into the top four if they splash the cash in january ,and are there or there abouts.

Adebayor would do better to concentrate on scoring consistently and being more reliable, than talking.he would be well advised to look at games where he went missing last season and this to suggest that he cannot start offering his view.i would have more respect for that comment from cesc or even clichy above ade.and even though this season whoever wins the prem will have dropped a few more points than in previous seasons i dont think arsenal will be champs….due (in some parts)to adebayors unreliability.

Oh, the Spuds have found their voices again, eh?
And they’re racist!
Brilliant.
See what lucking out at home against a 10 man team that can’t finish does for your confidence! That’s the Spuds way!
Top 4 next year is it?
You’ve got a chance if Reading and Birmingham get promoted. Although ties against the likes of Blackpool and Ipswich could be tricky.
Can’t wait girls.

And yet again, more racist spuddy-scum rears its head. Well done COS.

got too laugh, iv had a bad season but i dont understand why the arse are so focussed on us this year, oh wait yes i do because they are crap and cannot mix it with the top 3 anymore. so all their focus goes on us, and they claim it always has been on us, when really before martin jol we didn’t get a 2nd look as they use to fancy their chances against the best, now they are lucky to qualify for the champions league. its amazing what 3 years with no trophy, (thats right 3 years no trophy, not even the league cup), can do for your focus

It will be a tough ask to get anything at the immigrants, but we will have a better overall season now that common sense has prevailed. I love a north v south battle. Bring on the woolwich pikeys! COYS.

I expect us to win really on Wednesday. I mean I don’t expect us to win the title this year but you got to expect the bottom teams in the league when they come your place right?
Aziz - October 28th, 2008 at 3:30 am
Yid, we ain’t need to “mix” - Gunners ARE top 3 … well, utter your crap - and if I got nothing else to do one day I will look DOWN the table and search for the Spuds ….
