Redknapp was responsible for bringing the then-unknown 20-year-old Yakubu to England in 2003, when he signed him for former club Portsmouth from Maccabi Haifa.

The Nigerian has been a huge success in the Premier League with Pompey, Middlesbrough and now Everton, who paid the Riverside Stadium club £11million to sign him last season.

Egyptian forward Zaki is on a season-long loan deal at Wigan Athletic where he is making a sensational impact, having found the back of the net seven times already.

Since taking over at Spurs Redknapp has been linked with a number of players, and he is said to be willing to pay £6million for Zamalek ace Zaki and a further £14million for Yakubu. (fansfc.com)

I am not sure about this one to be honest. Zaki has started this season like a steam train, but let’s judge him on a whole season. If he is available for only £6m, then that would be a bargain, but I am sure that Zamalek will ask for more. Whilst Everton hitman Yakubu has a terrific strikerate, he does seem to be the laziest forward in the Premier League, but then he does have the knack of being in the right place at the right time and that is priceless.

I do not believe that Zaki and Yakubu are better than Bent and Pavlyuchenko, so I don’t really see this double raid happening. Far more likely is someone like Defoe coming in from Fratton Park. Who do Tottenham fans want to see leading the line?
