Harry has decided to welcome some players back in from the cold, but will this decision backfire?
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has restored five players to the first-team squad who were not given numbers at the start of the season.
Paul Stalteri, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Hossam Ghaly, Ricardo Rocha and Adel Taarabt were touted for sale.
Redknapp said: “Bringing them in is good for the dressing room.
“Now I want to get a few smiles back on faces.” (The Sun)
I can understand the thinking behind the idea and it could well help build up morale, especially for these five who really have fallen down the pecking order, but are any of this group likely to make an impact or indeed do they even deserve to still be at the club? I think it’s fair to say that Ricardo Rocha and Paul Stalteri have tried their best but neither is up to scratch. Boateng has failed to impress and appears to have some attitude issues and he should be offloaded as soon as possible.
Hossam Ghaly was farmed out and appears to be trying to get noticed. He has the ability, but is yet to prove himself at the club, despite showing glimpses of his ability whilst out on loan to Derby last term. Adel Taarabt is a peculiar case, he arrived with a bang but then has essentially disappeared and doesn’t appear up to Premier League standard, but at just 19 maybe he could still return to the form that wowed the fans. Of these five, who do Tottenham fans think should be given a lifeline at the club?
