According to this source, the way is clear for Wenger to beat off competition for this goalscoring machine!
AJAX star Klaas Jan Huntelaar has fuelled speculation he could quit the Dutch giants and move to the Premier League.
The 25-year-old Holland international has scored a staggering 78 goals in 99 games for the Amsterdam side, and his goalscoring exploits have alerted Europe’s big clubs.
Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with moves for him in the past, but the Red Devils have since signed Dimitar Berbatov leaving the door open for the Gunners to make a bid.
And Huntelaar admitted he is tempted by a move to English football.
He said: “I must admit I do have interest in playing in the Premier League.”
Arsenal would have to stump up around £20m to capture the former PSV striker, who has also notched ten goals in 18 appearances for his national team. (The Sun)
Huntelaar has been linked with a move away from Ajax for a few years now, but it does seem that this season could well be his last in the Eredivisie. As this source points out, Arsenal are ready and waiting to make the move, but could it really happen? Do Gunners fans agree with this source that the club leads the chase for Klaas and, if so, would they like to see his arrival at the club or is he too pricy?
