It’s a move that has been circulating for some time now but according to many sources it’s a deal that will be ironed out by the time the transfer window re-opens.
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has made Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz his No1 target for the January market.
The Mail on Sunday says Hughes will present Santa Cruz as his No 1 transfer target when he flies to Abu Dhabi for talks with owner Sheikh Mansour.
The former Blackburn manager is expected to go during the international break this month when, it is understood, he will tell the sheikh that he wants a left back and a centre forward in January. (tribalfootball.com)
Roque Santa Cruz proved to be the bargain of last season and it’s no surprise that he has become the subject of much speculation and the moment his former manager left for Manchester City many believed the first name on his shopping list would be the Paraguayan and then when the Eastlands club was bankrolled by billionaire owners the rumour mills began to spin wildly and add to that the up and down season Blackburn are having under new boss Paul Ince and all the signs point to a big money move from Ewood Park. Do Blues fans think that Santa Cruz would be a good signing and if so how would he fit in amongst the attacking options already at the club?
