Some people don’t believe in false modesty, and this Red Devils forward certainly falls into that category. When asked to define himself in one word, he couldn’t resist giving the interviewer what he was looking for, but do you agree with the Manchester United player’s verdict?
Setanta reports that Cristiano Ronaldo, scorer of four goals in his past two matches, is back to his confident, cocky self after an injury lay-off and a lukewarm response from United fans on his return.
When asked to define himself in one word, Ronaldo said: “In one word? Brilliant!” he told Fifa.com.
“Last season I had the opportunity to win many things, not just with the team but also as an individual.
“For me, last season enabled me to achieve great things on many, many levels and obviously I’m really happy.
“This season I’m just trying to do the same. I know it will be difficult, but I’m ambitious, I’m playing alongside great players and so I’m confident that the same opportunities will come again and that’s a fantastic feeling.
“I want to win more things.”
Manchester United supporters will be confident of another Premier League and Champions League double, despite a slightly wobbly 4-3 win over Hull City on Saturday. Do you think they’ll land both pieces of silverware again, and just how would you describe Cristiano Ronaldo in one word?
