We live in a money-mad world, where even the credit crunch can’t stop rumours about Ronaldo’s potential wage increase, and Man City aiming to break the transfer record in January. So what better way to honour this boom-and-bust philosophy, then with another great top ten list!
The idea is to try to come up with a list of which players are the most valuable. Now the obvious parameters that can affect a player’s value are age, form and potential. Some reports today have quoted Hull manager Phil Brown as suggesting that Frank Lampard could become the first £100m footballer, which may be a little exaggerated given his consistency and age, but he may well find a place on your list.
Other names that must be there or thereabouts are of course Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas, Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney. Then there are those who have only recently hit the headlines, but are still very young and hold a great deal of potential such as the likes of Micah Richards, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Giovanni. You get the idea, you could even incorporate how much you feel the players on your list are worth.
And remembern as with any of these top ten listsn you don’t have to fill in all the gaps on the list. You can indeed simply opt for a top three if you wish.
