Newcastle claim they have TWO “very serious” bidders for the club: Who could they be talking about?

Newcastle are riding an all-time high after their win yesterday against Aston Villa. They’ll feel even better knowing that while the play on the pitch is improving, so too are the club’s chances of landing a prospective buyer for the club!

Speaking at the FT Sport Industry Summit in London, Harris said: “We have two very serious contenders to buy it.”

While the former Football League chairman refused to identify the groups involved he did confirm that both are based outside the UK and expressed his belief that a sale would be concluded by the end of the year or by early in 2009.

”The truth of the matter is that the phone has rung several times, frequently because I have made the calls – but they have reacted to them. It is not easy doing anything in this world whether it’s selling a football club or anything else, but it will come through,” said Harris. (ESPNSoccernet)

With the current credit crisis, you can all but forget about another American businessman coming in to buy the club. The most logical choices at this time would be the Nigerian contingent and maybe a possible Arab cash wagon. Other than that, I’d have to say they’re keeping most of the information under relative lock and key.

Do Newcastle supporters have a particular buyer in mind for the club?
