If the west London club do as this source suggests and make a bid for this talented teen, surely they will be told to get lost!
Chelsea are weighing up a January bid for Tottenham winger Giovani dos Santos.
Reports in Mexico claim Luiz Felipe Scolari is hoping to take advantage of Dos Santos’s underwhelming start to Premier League life by tempting Spurs with an offer for the former Barcelona starlet.
The Mexican, 19, has made just three starts since his £4.7million move from the Catalan club in the summer and has not featured since Juande Ramos’s final game in charge against Udinese.
And to add insult to injury, the forward — once heralded as the next Ronaldinho — is likely to find himself overtaken in the Spurs pecking order by 16-year-old John Bostock for Thursday night’s home UEFA Cup tie against Dinamo Zagreb. (tribalfootball.com)
Whilst this move would have been plausible under the Ramos reign I don’t think that any Spurs player is rushing for the exit door under the new management, and that includes Giovani. The Mexican has found it hard to make a regular impact in the first team, but this is not a sign that he is not part of Harry’s plans. The former Barcelona man is only 19 after all, and will not figure week in week out.
If Chelsea do come in for the youngster, I am sure their bids will be turned down flat by the club. Do Tottenham fans believe that Redknapp is planning to offload any of the players in January and, if so, who should he start the clear-out with?
