Apparently caretaker boss Joe Kinnear is planning some moves in the transfer window, the question is, will he still be in a job by then?
NEWCASTLE despite their problems on and off the pitch Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear is not letting the grass grow under their feet in the transfer market.
Stand-in Toon boss Kinnear and his team have targeted Celtic’s unhappy midfield star Aiden McGeady.
But the 22-year-old Glasgow-born Republic of Ireland international will cost them upwards of £5million. (News of the World)
This Irish international has been linked with a move south of the border for a while now and it could be that January could signal a departure from Parkhead. The 22 year old has by no means been a first team regular this term which is odd given his fantastic season last term where he won just about every award on offer and helped the Bhoys to a thid successive SPL title. St James’ Park might just be a perfect fit for the Glasgow boy who has been linked in the past with a move to the likes of Manchester United, at least at Newcastle he could expect a first team slot and after 150 plus appearances for Celtic maybe a new challenge is what the boy needs. Do the Toon Army rate this assist machine?
