Tottenham manager claims verbal communication was the key to the club’s recent success: Was it really that simple?

Who knew talking to your players could get you so far! Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is learning that the easy way by communicating with the players on his club. In return, the club is playing some of their best football of the season. Was it really that easy?

Since Redknapp’s arrival from Portsmouth two weeks ago Spurs are unbeaten in five matches, but he said: ”I am not sure what I have done. I have just got to know them, talked to them and encouraged them. I have told them to be confident.

”We have lots of players, who can play and I have tried to make the training ground a brighter place. You should see our dressing room after this game, it is as if we have won the cup. (ESPNSoccernet)

A little encouragement never hurts; however, it looks like the main thing missing from this club was positive communication! Was Juande Ramos a mute while at White Hart Lane? One can only assume that, because if he had spoken up (even through an interpretor), things might be different now.

Do Tottenham supporters believe communication and encouragement were the missing pieces to the puzzle this season?
