In what can only be considered a huge turnaround in fortunes, Darren Bent the Tottenham striker is being courted by Inter Milan according to Italian radio.
Jose Mourinho likes his big forwards and has informed the board at Inter that the one player he likes and would be viewed as a replacement for Adriano is Darren Bent and by all accounts Inter will pay close to £20 million.
Bent was seen as a huge waste of money and not seen to have a future at Spurs but his recent form has highlighted not just the lads ability but his own personal confidence
This was a player derided by fans all over the country including his own and with Pavlyuchenko brought in and Spurs actively looking for more strikers one could be forgiven for letting their heads drop, not Bent though, he just got on with it and is scoring at will
Bent is now a first team regular and third highest scorer in the Premier League and still young looks to have a bright future ahead of him and it is very unlikely Spurs will let him go unless Inter offer a huge amount and even Adriano in part exchange, now wouldn’t that be a turn up for the books. Well this is a little hard to swallow to be honest. Yes Darren Bent has been in fine form of late, but I just don’t see this as even a distinct possibility. Apart from anything, I am sure that Harry wouldn’t want to sell his top scorer anyway, but the idea that the reigning Serie A champions would be about to make such a huge bid for the former Charlton man is just a little far-fetched. After all, the San Siro side has the likes of Adriano, Ibrahimovic, Julio Cruz, David Suazo and Hernan Crespo to call upon, those players have managed in excess of 450 Serie A goals between them and Jose Mourinho also has youngsters Balotelli and Obinna in his squad.
Do Tottenham fans think that the club now doesn’t need to buy a striker in January?
