Liverpool ready for £7m USELESS ‘Star’ BID!
by Mr Comfort on November 16th, 2008 17 commentsThis signing arrived amid great excitement but has rarely shown any ability of note whatsoever during his time at the club. Therefore Rafa will surely be glad to hear of interest in the Italian full back from two Serie A giants!

Juventus and Roma are following Liverpool fullback Andrea Dossena.
Dossena has failed to deliver since his £7million summer move from Udinese, and several Serie A clubs have been alerted to his immediate availability, says the News of the World. (tribalfootball.com)
Dossena was considered to be one of the bright lights of Italian football when he arrived at Anfield but he has quite frankly been pretty hopeless. Is it any coincidence that the former Udinese man has happened to have started the only two games the club has lost this season? I doubt it very much! Every time I have seen him play he has flattered to deceive failing to defend adequately and constantly losing the ball. Thankfully Aurelio has started to play decently in recent games and clearly unless things improve with the Italian international Benitez will be wise enough to sell him at the earliest opportunity. Do any Liverpool fans rate Dossena? Maybe the club could do a deal with Roma to get Riise back in return, what do the fans think of that potential swap?

Riise could be on his way out, he’s not had a great tim in Italy, as for that slow lump Dossena waste of 7 mill

Would rather see Carra or Agger pushed out to left back if need be rather than ever having Dossena wear a Liverpool shirt again. Same goes for Degen, give Darby a chance and he will no doubt play with more passion and can’t be worse technically. Watching Dossena and Degen on Wednesday gave me my first Liverpool related Migraine since the end stages of Houllier’s time in charge. On a more positive note Aurelio has been class recently; let’s hope he stays injury free.

I’d told everyone that Riise was better than this guy, and damn right he was.

Riise himself said he had grown stale at liverpool and that is why his performances dipped and he was eventually sold

I have just booked a flight for Dossena from Liverpool to Rome, one way.
Thursday 20th Nov (Earliest I could get)
Departs Liverpool at 06:30
Arrives in Rome 10:15
Cost 73 euro. (This is the best money I have spent in a while)
I have tried to ring Raffa to let him know but I cant get through, can any of ye make sure that he gets on the plane.
I would really appreciate if someone could do this.

I’d say in Aurelio and Insua we have enough, sell Dossena and get Kuba from BvB

I really liked Riise, In fact he was one of my favour players. Alot of you forget JAR was brough as a leftsided midfield play and then got move to letf back. he as scored more goals the Ashley Cole,Patrice Evra, and Geal Clichy over the same period of time. He was as so a great passer of the ball. He is already being miss. Having said that we should not be trying to get him back, but rather finding someone better to fill his shoe and not trying to find someone on the cheap. Bale is good, but we need better,Someone who has class ….. YNWA

As replacements go i think we should be looking at Marcelo, Drenthe, Bale, Chiellini and Lahm. That’s only because Aurelio is so injury prone!

Lads Aurelio can’t even cross a ball, its that simple and in this day and age of a top 4 club it’s just not good enough, and why he is even let near a free kick, I just don’t know.

It’s coz he makes them look like penalties, he’s just a very bad penalty taker!! Seriously though, i think that ball he played in to Kuyt at the weekend was inch perfect so hopefully that will give him the confidence to push on and maintain some good form, if he can stay fit.

you obviously dont watch too much of us then as kuyts goal was funnily enough from an aurelio cross! hes got a good left foot and if anything a lack of 1st team football is probably to balme for any inconsistency, i think if aurelio plays a decent string of games he will find some good form, i think he is capable of producing but has been unlucky so far!!
Steve McMahon - November 19th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
Evening Kez, no matter how bad a player is you can always find one or two things he has done well, but tell me the last 5 crosses he made of importance.
Time and time again his crosses go astray, he is in no way accurate, as regards a sweet left foot, you cant be talking about his crossing ability and you definately cant be talking about his great free kicks, when was the last time he scored from a free kick.
Ok I can take on board about his lack of first team football, but who is keeping him out of the side, Dossena?, I mean, come on.
None of the other top 4 would have Aurelio in their squad let alone the team.
