Inconsistency is our worst enemy, claims Arsenal defender: He speaks the truth!
by offsidetrap on November 17th, 2008Gail Clichy had some harsh words for his team-mates in regards to their recent form. He’s afraid that their inconsistency could ruin the entire season!
After a thrilling win over Manchester United was followed by such a damp squib to leave Arsenal nine points behind leaders Chelsea, Clichy feels Arsenal need to improve his consistency, and called for the right “desire and attitude”. “Those are the key words in football today, being consistent and working hard as a team,” said the France defender on Arsenal TV Online.
“It was a great performance against Manchester United and if we do that every week we’ll be fine. But we did the opposite (against Villa) and we cannot work like this.
“There is time and there’s a way to go. There is time to catch and for other teams to drop points but if we play like we did (against Villa), after a few months the season will be finished.” (ESPNSoccernet)
Clichy is right, Arsenal are battling with a major consistency problem at the moment. Any team that loses to Stoke City, defeats Manchester United and then loses to Aston Villa has a deficiency. The depth and the youth at the club have been two massive issues for some time now; but for the moment it looks like a lack of consistency is the biggest issue plaguing the club.
Are Arsenal supporters concerned about the road ahead?

If Mr. Wenger put his Carling Cup youngsters in the match against Aston Villa I bet Arsenal will surely win that encounter. The C.C team play freeflowing soccer without any pressure or fear and they express their desire into the game. The socalled FIRST team is egoistic and play with pressure because they think that being in the first team they are great footballers. Actually they are not that much better than the C.C team youngsters. Can we believe that Eboue, Bendtner and Song are superior to Wilshere, Ramsay and Gibbs. Sometimes I felt that Mr. Wenger is stubbornly backing them eventhough their performance is below par. The player I like to single out is Bendtner. He is not giving his best because he can if he wants to. Always losing opportunities and balls. He is completely out of sorts, yet he is playing as a striker, one who do not take shot at goal or head the ball anywhere near goal.

Maybe Arsene Wenger should try Clichy in the CM position and switch Gallas or Silvestre to LB position. I tell you this can protect the back four much better, as Clichy has got pace and is a hard worker.
Otherwise, he should try Kolo Toure in the CM position. AW, please try one of the two permutations with the Man City game and let us see how things go. You will be surprised. Both Toure and Clichy have got pace and are hard workers.

the reason we sucked at home to villa is simple, we had no strike force, van persie was injured and adebayor not match fit. u take keane n torres, berbatov and rooney away from liverpool and man u , u wud see them struggle. it is looking grim 4 the gunners but the result on saturday was nothing to do with inconsistency, was to do with injuries

the team are not playing as a team.no hugs or pep talk before a match(very important to share team spirit)if all the players gave 200% they would win more.
the players that do not preform@ each match, should be left on the bench next game.gail always gives 200%+kola how come he is not been played?play simpson, vele, ramsey, jack, more .us fans have got to cerate more noise and lift the team@ every match.they need to know we are with them 1000%.come on
