Apparently, Harry Redknapp is all set to jump in for this Premier League new boy, who has arrived with a splash!
Tottenham are ready to pounce for Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki.
The People says Wigan boss Steve Bruce will risk losing out in an auction for Zaki – and that has opened the door for Tottenham.
Bruce will not pay over the odds for the red-hot marksman as his club Zamalek try to get more cash for the on-loan Latics star.
He said: “I hope Amr continues to be here after this season. If it goes to £10m and we can’t do it, then we can’t do it. The price changes every week.”
Wigan have first option to buy him during this season and Bruce said: “If we can agree a fee we will.” (tribalfootball.com)
Eight goals in your first dozen Premier League games is bound to get people’s attention, and even more so if those goals are for a team at the wrong end of the table. Zaki is clearly enjoying himself in England, and it appears that offers for his services are being made to his Zamalek owners on a daily basis. The likes of Real Madrid and Juventus have even been mentioned, the danger of course is that this could all go to the 25-year-olds’ head, and that would be a double blow for Steve Bruce who is sure to lose the Egyptian come the end of his loan deal at the JJB.
Harry Redknapp will have to think long and hard about making a move for the £12m-rated striker, but given that Amr will probably stay at the Latics for the rest of the season, the Spurs manager will have a long time to consider whether such a fee is worthy of the hitman. Do Tottenham fans think the club needs another striker and, if so, do they think the Wigan man fits the bill?
