What do Liverpool and Everton fans REALLY think about the groundshare? VOTE NOW!
by Mr Comfort on November 19th, 2008In this super-scientific experiment, we want the fans of both sides to vote on whether they believe the clubs should consider ground-sharing?
Claim your FREE bet right now!
Discussions continue to ring out across Merseyside about the possibility of a stadium to house both Red and Blue halves of the city. This may make sense financially, but it seems to fly in the face of the rivalry between the two clubs.
So what do you, the fans, think? Using our easy cut-and-paste thingy, simply CUT your Team and your opinion from those available below and place them in the comment box, then see what your fellow fans think. By all means add a lengthier response if you feel like doing so.

Glad we finally get the chance to see what the fans REALLY think. I guess all the other hundreds of online poll that have asked this question aren’t truly representive like the authoritative Caughtoffside website.

Never, ever gonna happen full stop! Christ! couldnt think of nothing worse, could you imagine the smell!!
scouser - November 19th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
i believe it would be fantastic for both clubs to share what will be one of the best grounds in the country, fans from both clubs get on fairly well at derby days unlike other cities where fighting takes precedence over the game, I’m not saying that there are no idiots here from either club who want to fight but i’m sure it could be managed, my one and only concern is the pitch and how it would hold up to the possibility that 4 games a week that could be played on it, i say go for it who knows in the five years it could take to build the stadium technology could produce a grass that will not tear up as bad in bad weather.

Liverpool,
(Not decided)
And it’s not due to any dislike / hate of Everton, I would just like all the facts / options before deciding.
Note: Cant really understand the recent hate element between Liv / Eve fans, nasty for no real reason,.
Not needed.

TOFFEE NOSE BLUE, Congratulations!!! You have just won the top prize for the most moronic and disrespectful comment ever left on this site.
In your beautifully written piece, you wrote “I would rather die. ” I’m sure I speak for many when I say your passing wouldn’t be a great loss. Fool.

Where do the reds get the idea we want to ground share with them? Most blues I know don’t.
Don’t know where the reds get the idea we’re jealous of them either. I support Everton because thats what I was brought up with and I love them and thats whether we’re up or down. Thats what you call a true supporter. Could any Reds say the same?

Why are so many Liverpool fans even bothering answering? They probably don’t even go the match like the rest of the telly clappers, in fact they probably have never even been near Liverpool, so what does it matter to them?
NO for me by the way

I am an Everton Supporter from a family of mixed religion, Everton and Liverpool. Nevertheless we are football supporters appreciating good football whatever the shirt colour. Can’t abide entrenched viewpoints from people who probably never kicked a ball let alone understand the playing of the game. I dislike the way ‘outsiders’ are damaging the ‘friendly’ rivalry we had developed to the envy of other clubs. Remember chanting”Merseyside” at Wembley derby matches?
I vote Yes to Groundsharing

I have a season ticket at Anfield and if we groundshared that would be the end of my going to the match for life.

EVERTON
YES
We are the probably the only Premier sides to be able to do this even though the rivalry has grown in derby matches over the years. We will be unique.
After a few years everyone will be happy about it I’m sure. Kirby first though if poss.
Mike - November 19th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
A Groundshare is perfect for the city and makes sense all round. The only problem i have with the idea is the pitch.
If we played on artificial grass then yes it would work and it could be the best and biggest ground in the UK.
If we can have a pitch that can take all the football that 2 teams playing in all competitions play and still look great then i say go for it.

Danny, “Your not scousers anymore?”. If YOU were a scouser, you would know how to spell Kirkby, it has a “K” in it, as all scousers know.
By the way, whilst you support your team with it’s second-choice name/second choice colour/hand-me-down ground/hand-me-down logo, try to learn a bit of your own history.
BTW, I dont want to share, but I would get used to it like I got used to having to sit at matches.
P.S. Liverpool fans are deluded if they think they have lots of money to spend on a ground, if this was the case, it would already be getting built.

Ok I am sure that each team would like to have it’s own super duper stadium with the best facilities, pitch etc etc but as already pointed out they will cost about 400m each, it seems at the moment that money is tight for both teams and maybe a 600m 80-100,000 seat stadium the envy of the world and housed in Liverpool would be the answer, but, what about the name (Stanley park doesn’t quite have the ring to it), the colour of the seats ( 1/2 red and 1/2 blue) and would the place seem empty when say wigan comes to town meaning lack of atmosphere. On a plus side there would be no waiting list for a season ticket as each team could have 80,000 seats on a normal match day and 50,000 on a derby (opps who would have to give up there seats?)
For what it’s worth, I don’t care; I could live with a super stadium, Anfield or just a new stadium when the yanks sell to Dubai I just love the football.

LIVERPOOL
NO
For a few reasons
1. When the blueshite plays, they wont fill it - they have to advertise for half season tickets in december and not to mention those tiresome adverts on radio city trying to get people to go down to woodison ON THE DAY OF THE MATCH, pathetic… they’d never fill a 80k+ seater.
2. It has to be all red, half blue half red option = bad.
3. They have been rejected from kirby and got no where to go - let them suffer in woodison for a further century, twats.
