Manchester United striker now an INJURY concern for Saturday: Sir Alex won’t be pleased to hear this!

Sir Alex Ferguson may want to write Dimitar Berbatov’s name in pencil on the starting XI sheet; it appears the Bulgarian striker could be out for the weekend after picking up a knock in his country’s recent friendly match.

Berbatov, 27, was appearing in a friendly match in Belgrade when he was replaced in the first-half, seemingly with a hamstring problem.

An injury to the striker, who has scored six goals in 14 appearances for Manchester United, would be bad news for Ferguson, whose team visit Martin O’Neill’s Aston Villa side, fresh from their victory against Arsenal last weekend. (Telegraph)

Berbatov is the last player Manchester United want to lose with a critical match against Aston Villa this weekend. Whilst it doesn’t appear the injury is too serious, I think we all know that hamstring issues can take time to heal. For now Berbatov is a doubt to start.

Are United supporters confident their club can pick up three-points this weekend against Aston Villa?
