I have to say of all the fans I have come accross and grounds I have been to, Ibrox and the Ranger’s fans leave a lot to be desired. They seem to have this hatred for everyone and everything not rangers, bigots not football fans. I know that there is two sides to the Glasgow thing, but from my experience, Celtic fans are more civilised and better to mix with.

I’m not so sure about all these big clubs having the worst fans. One of my mates supports Yeovil, and he’s really, really irritating. I mean, really bad. Just kidding! I’m not even sure it’s a sensible question - bit like saying what’s worse: cancer or heart disease. They’re both pretty grim. We all know that most big clubs have their fair share of lunatics, although if you had to vote, you’d probably go for Rangers following the disgraceful scenes in Manchester earlier this year.

The SIXTY supporters who walked out in protest were not protesting at the minutes applause but the compulsory wearing of the poppy on the Celtic strip, which they felt was a symbol of Brittish imperialism. The peaceful demonstration was held 10 minutes into the game, were they met another 100 or so making their feelings felt in a lawful peaceful way outside the ground.
Hardly comparable to rangers ’supporters’ behaviour in manchester, which shamed their scumbag supporters, their club, their city, their country and BRITISH football, AGAIN!!!

Rangers have been under investigation by uefa on several occassions for racism and sectarianism. I remember the Nazi salutes in Israel and sectarian chanting in the san siro.
That was before Manchester. And then there was Barcelona.
Recently Ranger’s fans behaviour was brought up in the European parliament, too.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Celtic won awards from Uefa and Fifa for their fans exemplary behaviour. An unprecidented measure.

Maybe Manchester prefers its shopping centre to be bombed out of existence almost, by bombs that were funded by money collected at Celtic Park? Celtic were started to as a charity to raise funds for the hungry and homeless in the east of Glasgow, who, because of the no dogs, no irish policy of some of the biggest employers and landlords, were in the main Irish catholics.
Celtic, however, have never had a employment policy based on race or religion, unlike rangers. And unlike rangers have never put themselves across as a club for one section of society, unlike rangers, hence the name Celtic and not glasgow irish or something similary exclusive.
As for your reading of the troubles in Norther Ireland, only a moronic, backward thinking rangers fan could come up with such a warped reading of history. As someone who lives in England i can tell you this subject doesn’t occupy minds nearly as much as it does in the west of Scotland but those with a working intellect can see that, while the acts were dispicable and the loss of life neadless and regrettable, the subject is a complex one which needs deep reading of the history and social conditions to fully understand and certainly not the warpd black and white picture that you paint - though i suspect this is down to you being born in to the type of family which forms opinion on intollerance and bigotry rather than a deep understanding of historical events.
As for the seperate schools, do jewish, islamic and hindi communities not have seperate schools? but again you being the complete retard that you are wouldn’t have spent a lot of time considering why that is. go to any country in the world, barring a few, and there are schools of all religions, it’s about peoples right practise and educate in the religion of their choice. oh and, yes protestants do have schools in Scotland..only most are called state schools.
And i take the Jock Stein thing is about him booting a guy accussed of abuse up the arse and out of the boys club after a kids parents accussed the said person of abuse yet refused to make the matter official and take it to police, despite Jock Stein’s encouragement to do so.
What you failed to add was the misrepresentation of this incident by Rangers fans to score cheap points against Celtic and their greatest manager in a futile propaganda war which not only damaged the victims involved but put scottish football in the gutter, blakened the name of Scotland’s greatest manager and one of the men who done most to rid Scotland of the scourge of sectarian intolerance aswell as showing Rangers football club and their hard core fans for the scummy, immoral neaderthals that they truely are.

Attacking the Moscow Dynamo players (before the full scale riot) during the 1972 ECWC Final in Barcelona. As Moscow Dynamo coach Konstantin Beskov stated, “We had the advantage and momentum at the end of the game, when the Rankers fans broke onto the pitch and attacked our players.”
Being called ‘savages’ by UEFA President Gustav Wiedekehr after rioting huns shamed themselves in Barcelona in 1972. In a scathing attack, Mr Wiedekehr angrily stated “ The Rankers fans behaved like savages. We must find ways to keep such people from football stadiums.”

Even to this day, Rankers fans experience a cold shiver when asked about their memories of the trip. Most have conveniently chosen to forget.
Convicted Loyalist terrorist, and UDA Godfather John Gregg being ambushed and shot dead by fellow Rankers fans in 2003 after returning to Belfast from a match at Ibrox. Gregg, who was sentenced to 18 years after a failed assassination attempt on the life of MP Gerry Adams, was slain by a number of gun-totting masked men wearing Rankers shirts, who then fled the scene in a stolen taxi.
Brutally assaulting sports photographer Eric Craig as they invaded the Hampden pitch after the 1980 Scottish Cup Final. Craig was left deaf in one ear, and with a gruesome dent in his head after he was beaten and struck with a Pomagne bottle ‘hurled at him by a Rankers fan.’ He also had to undergo an emergency six-hour operation at the Southern General Neurosurgical Unit, and still suffers from headaches and dizziness. He also gave up attending football matches after the huns attack which left him traumatised. As Mr Craig later commented “You can still feel the hatred from these people, even after 25 years. I don’t know if they’ll ever be able to be cured.”
UVF Loyalist Godfather William Taube being murdered at Ibrox Stadium in a revenge attack, on a Sunday night in April, 1999, during a Loyalist [Blue Mist] function. The function was held to celebrate the release of, and was attended by, several Loyalist prisoners from the Maze Prison. Security was provided by Taube’s UVF friends, including a leading member of the UVF in Glasgow. Despite this, Taube was attacked and head-butted down a flight of stairs before having his head smashed on the marble flooring of The Edmiston Suite. He later died at Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital. In a sworn statement to the Crown Office, a witness claimed he had been threatened with knee-capping if he failed to tell police the attack he saw was ‘a drunken accident’. Following the incident, the witness received death threats and now lives in hiding, terrified of retribution. Taube’s assailant was chased and beaten up in the car park before managing to flee. He has never been caught.

Hello! We are King Billy’s Boys! We’re up to our knees in Fenian blood, Surrender or you’ll die!’ There were other sectarian songs. The bigotry was disturbing.”

Later in the same week, scumbag Diouf was banned from driving for 12 months after he was found guilty of a drink-driving offence, after a champagne drinking binge. A month earlier Diouf was fined £500 after he admitted a charge of disorderly conduct for spitting at a fan during a Premiership match. Funny, the sort of people these huns look up to ?!
The outrage by huge sections of the club’s support after Rankers ended their sectarian signing policy - eventually - and signed a Catholic after almost a century. The arrival of the said Catholic was met with protests, derision, boycotts, and the surrender and burning of numerous Season Books. Fans’ leaders appeared in television documentaries in later years, proudly displaying their full and unused Season Books, as a result of their continued non-attendance protest at the presence of a Catholic player at the club. The first game to be played at The Death Star was –v- St Mirren, which was preceded by the League flag unveiling ceremony – an event which is traditionally a sell-out throughout the footballing world. The Death Star that day was over 5000 short of capacity, as embittered Catholic-haters stayed away in their thousands. Many congregated at a boycott party under the Umbrella at Brig’ton X, whilst others sent a funeral wreath to the front door of The Death Star, mourning the end of ‘tradition’.
Rioting before, during, and after the notorious Villa Riot game in 1976 where 8000 drunken huns went on an orgy of robbery, violence, and hooliganism which brought Birmingham to a standstill. The violence was so serious that it was reported live on World of Sport just after kick-off, with Dickie Davies warning Villa fans not to go into their home end for the threat of being attacked. The game was marred by dozens of rampaging fights as drunken huns attacked the home fans, and was eventually abandoned at half-time in the interests of crowd safety - with the huns typically on the losing end of the 2-0 scoreline.

The intentions of the deranged low-lifes at Ibrox was to try and tarnish the status of a footballing giant, whilst wading in a cesspit filled with the remnants of human suffering and broken lives. What could be any lower than sullying the reputation of a dead man with lies and fabrication, at the expense of children who were the victims of a heinous crime. This truly is the lowest of the low - and another benchmark for these vile reprobates.
The sectarian murder and homicidal violence perpetrated on Celtic fans, by Rankers-supporting bigoted maniacs. Once investigated and convicted, the perpetrators have often been found to have grown up in an anti-Catholic environment that encouraged sectarianism and division along football and religious lines. One of these thugs, Jason Campbell (who murdered Mark Scott in 1996) is the son of a convicted Loyalist UVF terrorist. He is also a diehard Rankers fan, and was defended during his trial by the Rankers FC Vice-Chairman Donald Findlay QC - himself later forced to resign after a shameful sectarian hate incident. In 1998 Findlay also defended another Rankers-supporting, Loyalist thug, Thomas Longstaff (who cut the throat of Sean O’Connor) is an almost copy-cat attack to Campbell’s. Police later admitted, that in the two-year period between these attacks, 38 similar assaults had taken place in the area, all directed at Catholics or those wearing Celtic colours. The learned Mr Findlay was happily singing his hate anthems on the same day in May 1999 that 16 year old Thomas McFadden was being stabbed to death by hun thug David Hutton in Govanhill after he watched the huns play at Hampden. His ‘crime’ was to be wearing a Celtic top. Also in 1999, Carl McGroarty, was shot in the chest by a bolt fired from a crossbow as he left a pub wearing his Celtic top. On the same day, another young Celtic fan, Liam Sweeney was stabbed repeatedly after leaving a Chinese takeaway. His green jersey and the calling of his name to collect his food order was enough to identify him as a Catholic from an Irish background. Later the same evening in Ayrshire, three young Celtic fans - one female - were viciously attacked by a large mob of Rankers fans. All three were hospitalised, one of the men had receiving horrific head injuries, and the other a broken jaw. In 2003, Celtic fan Thomas Loughrey was stabbed to death by James McCormick in an unprovoked attack in Pollokshaws. Thomas had made the fatal error of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as McCormick – high on drink and drugs, took offence to his Celtic top. In October 2004, Ian Gray was stabbed to death by convicted thug Brian Cooper after he had spent the day getting acutely more drunk after watching an Orange Walk, and then attending a match at Ibrox stadium. Cooper, who received ten years for his act of bigoted murder, admitted the sectarian abuse of Mr Gray, before striking him with a wine bottle and repeatedly stabbing him in the back. Teenager Michael McIlveen, chased and battered to death by a gang dressed in Rankers shirts, wielding baseball bats in the town of Ballymena. His crime was to have been wearing a Celtic shirt. How many more innocent Celtic fans are to be butchered before something is done to curtail these sectarian animals – and the hate-mongers who defend them ?
Having 15 hooligan fans jailed in September 1999 by a Dutch court after they were convicted of mobbing and rioting before, during, and after a European tie with PSV Eindhoven. The hun thugs - all from Scotland - were convicted by the court in Den Bosch, and sentenced to periods of imprisonment ranging from 4 weeks to 24 weeks. During a game at Celtic Park in August 1985, hanging a banner from the roof trusses, that denigrated the death of the recently deceased Celtic Chairman, Desmond White, with an obscene homophobic profanity. At the same match, a young policeman - the son of the Match Commander, Patrick MacNee - was hospitalised after having his head caved in by a bottle thrown by a hun knuckledragger, and the food & beverage stall at the rear of the hun-end terracing was set ablaze, with the young attendants still inside. Rankers fans being involved in widespread violence and sectarianism during a European tie in July 1998 in Liverpool. The match - against Irish club Shelbourne - had to be moved to a neutral ground (Tranmere Rovers / Prenton Park) because club officials knew that the sectarian Rankers fans could not be trusted to travel to Ireland without the genuine fear that they would cause mayhem and injury – if not murder (See Bohemians 1984). It so proved that they couldn’t be trusted to travel to England either, where they had to be baton-charged by more than 150 fully clad riot police, as they tried to attack the Irish fans. Amidst mopping up the carnage that Rankers fans caused - including smashing the windows of the Shelbourne FC team bus - Liverpool police commented that Rankers fans would never again be allowed to freely roam the city. If they ever again, did have cause to visit the city, severe policing restrictions would be applied. This has later been proven to be the case as numerous English cities have faced severe alcohol licensing restrictions when Rankers are scheduled to play there. Carroll invested an initial £1m, followed by a further £2.9m via Rankers Financial Management, the brokers who deal with such transactions. A neighbour (Ruth Leeks) who recently collapsed with an asthma attack due to the toxic fumes caused by one of Carroll’s customary caravan bonfires, commented ‘I feel sorry for the guy because he’s obviously so stupid that he has a screw loose and needs help’. As she said this, Carroll and his tattooed hordes were busily obstructing firemen who had been called to extinguish yet more of his toxic-plumed handiwork. In July 2004, he was sentenced to 5 months for possession of cocaine. In February 2006, he was sentenced to 9 months in prison after he and three friends, armed with baseball bats, burst into a Christian rock concert in Norfolk, and ran amok. Two of the concert-goers required hospital treatment while other young Christians prayed for their lives.

Every person entering with a forged ticket deprives a genuine fan with an authentic ticket of the chance to get in.” Are there no depths to which these gutter-scum won’t sink to ??
Being branded ‘shameful’, ‘filth’ and ‘ a disgrace’ by Bobby Robson after a pre-season match at St James’s Park where they persistently abused Alan Shearer to such an extent, that Robson took him off the park. Robson later commented that he had plied his trade for decades, in numerous countries around the world. This was the first time he had experienced such malice, on such a vile scale, and the first time he had ever felt needing to take one of his players off the field of play. Yet another ugly first for the gutter-scum who support Rankers. Seems the hypocritical hate-mongers only love Engerrlunnd when it suits them.
Rankers fans continued and repeated racial and sectarian abuse of Neil Lennon over two adjoining fixtures which prompted Martin O’Neill to publicly comment on his utter disgust at the situation. Despite condemnation from the media, politicians, and the wider Scottish public, Rankers refused to condemn their bigoted and sectarian fan-base which continues to bring shame on their club. On the very day Martin O’Neill’s comments were reported in the media, he himself was viciously abused by the Ibrox hate-mongers during a match with Austrian minnows Grazer AK. Hollow claims from the Ibrox hierarchy that any abuse was made by ‘a minority’ were publicly dispelled when a near full house was broadcast on live television heard to repeatedly abusing Martin O’Neill as ‘a Fenian bastard’. Later, and displaying a deplorable ignorance of the facts, not to mention a typical and wholly predictable display of Ostrich Syndrome, David Murray attempted to claim that ‘generalisations of Rankers fans as racist bigots, were inaccurate’. In his view ‘the vast majority of Rankers supporters are decent, respectable people’. Pity none of them were amongst the 50,000+ that were inside Ibrox that night, Mr Murray – or perhaps you just need to take your head out of the sand. A Rankers fan (Derek Hume) being arrested and charged with verbally abusing Bobo Balde in a racist and sectarian manner during a game at Ibrox. At the same match another Rankers fan (Alan Martin) was arrested, charged, and later plead guilty to verbally abusing Momo Sylla and Bobo Balde in a racist and sectarian manner. He also admitted making ‘monkey noises’ and shouting racist abuse.
Rankers fans attacking a Glasgow Merchant City bar (Locomotiv) filled with Celtic fans and pushing two of them through a plate glass window. The thugs, many of them with Rankers scarves pulled up over their faces were caught on CCTV attacking the bar, throwing bottles and missiles at it, and attacking the customers inside it by punching and kicking them, whilst chanting sectarian songs. Both Loyalist psychos are currently serving 10 year bans from attending football matches anywhere in the UK, so it might be a bit of time yet before they can attend a sash-up within The Death Star.
Sectarian abuse being hurled at four Catholic priests in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis by local hooligans wearing Rankers tops. The priests were warned to leave the island ‘before they were cremated’. One of the priests (Father Paul Hackett) was later mailed a death threat before his parish (The Church of The Holy Redeemer) was burned to the ground as he slept. Other priests were threatened with ‘having their throats slit’ and ‘being strangled’. It would appear that in the minds of some hate-filled bigots, merely being a Catholic is justifiable grounds for execution.

British Transport Police having to board a train in Ayrshire after Loyalist thugs returning from a Rankers game began vandalizing the carriages after having subjected the terrified occupants to mile upon mile of sectarian bigotry and drunken thuggish behaviour. Two young male passengers on the train were also assaulted. A number of arrests were made before the passengers were allowed to resume their journey, grateful in the knowledge that their safety now wasn’t quite so precarious.
The Aberdeen players having to be taken off the pitch at Pittodrie in 2002, after Aberdeen striker Robbie Winters was hit in the head by a coin, as a hail of missiles were launched by rabid huns. The hun hooliganism caused many people to be injured before riot police had to be called in to take control. Rankers players had to approach the baying huns, to try and calm them. Press photos later showed Lorenzo Amadiddy pleading with the huns to control themselves, and to stop behaving like hooligans. As stated in The Telegraph : “Trouble began when fans in the Rankers section hurled coins and bottles at Aberdeen’s Robbie Winters as he prepared to take a corner kick. The home fans invaded the pitch to confront their rivals. Rankers followers tried to meet them half way, but were prevented by 50 police officers in full riot gear. The referee took both teams off and the match was halted for 17 minutes. Over 60 of the stadium’s seats were ripped out. Nineteen supporters received varying injuries, with a number requiring hospital treatment. Police made 13 arrests before and during the game, and a number of others were ejected from the ground.”

To date, numerous members have been arrested, ejected, warned, or banned. If that’s what goes on in their much trumpeted ‘anti-sectarian’ section, one shudders to think what goes on in their sectarian sections.

Suggesting to each other that Rankers should try and cheat their way to further progress by deliberately throwing their forthcoming UC group match against Auxerre, with a view to securing an easy draw in the next round of the tournament. If Rankers finished 2nd in the group (Alkmaar were favourites for 1st place) they would face the likes of Real Madrid, Valencia, Porto, Deportivo, Liverpool, Ajax etc. If they came 3rd – which would happen if they conveniently ‘lost’ to Auxerre – they would face the likes of Lille, Dnipro, Seville, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Partisan Belgrade etc. With seedings for the next round based on where a team finishes in their previous group, the 1st eight would play the 3rd eight placed teams, and the 2nd eight would play those who parachuted in from the Champions League. The fact that he again ‘attacked the Rankers support as a whole’ merely re-iterates what a wasted exercise this was for the beleaguered brethren of the RSA. No doubt they had a bit of explaining to do when they returned to face the blood-thirsty hordes in Kinning Park ?! Ah well, back to slating him on FF it is then.
The disgraceful and cowardly verbal attack by a number of drunken Rankers fans on Jean-Alain Boumsong inside an Ibrox hospitality suite, after a European tie –v- Auxerre. Boumsong, who was sitting with his girlfriend and family, was confronted, and subjected to a torrent of personal abuse, before being told to ‘F*ck Off To Newcastle’. The Tyneside club had earlier in the day, entered a £7.5m bid for him - something he could neither prevent, nor influence. Confirming the nasty incident, the player’s enraged agent Willie McKay, said the bust up left Boumsong’s girlfriend ‘very upset by what was said’ and he himself stated the ugly confrontation ‘left a very nasty taste in the mouth’. If this is how they treat one of their most popular players, heaven knows what vitriol is reserved for the out of favour ones ?!

In the past 5 years Rangers have had more warnings from Uefa than anyother club and have had songs banned by Uefa and the SPL. Each club has their history of bad supporters…
The common theme are Celtic/ Rangers…who incidentally are comprised of support who are as bad as each other. In fact most Scotch are piss poor fans.
I guess they take it too personally because the football is also so piss poor. They are both as bad as each other. The problems are clearly rooted in their society, which although they are clearly part of do everything they can not to accept this fact. Unfortunately these conceptions are perpetuated to the progeny of support. Its clear (especially in the case of Rangers and Celtic) that the ’supporters’ don’t even know what they are arguing about.
The Scottish football anti-culture is fuelled by alcoholism and recalcitrant behaviour. This inevitably results in pitch invasions, riots and other act of little or no judgement. It is also exacerbated by the media and even the clubs themselves as they appear to profit from the conflict. When you look at clubs with no such issues they clearly lose supporters. This also goes back to the theory that certain activists are able to ‘highjack’ popular events for their own gains.
Supporters spokespersons, the boards, the SPL/ football associations, parliament and the media must toe the line in abolishing the underlying issues.
Clearly the timing of this article coincides with the recent anger about the perennial underachievement of Scotch clubs. To be honest in recent years I believe they may have over achieved and to win no games is about right for them.
Incidentally this is paralleled by other famous conflicts, such as…
ManU v Liverpool, Villa v City or Israel v Palastine.

I’ve read some amount of nonsense over the years on various Rangers websites, especially their favourite, you know the one.. The sectarian hate site that claims to be non-sectarian while polluting nearly every thread with ‘Fenian this’, ‘Taig scum that’ and of course one of their favourites ‘Tarriers’. All this while decrying the Pope of Rome, Catholic City Council and Blatantly Broadcasting Catholicism. They are obsessed.
This week we’ve had the usual mock-shock at some jibes made about Karma and Kevin Thompson. Apparently we’re all scum, vermin, filth and all the rest of the perma-rage adjectives they can vomit up. These are the same people who repeatedly posted up images and videos of Larsson when he broke his leg, finding the whole thing rib-ticklingly hilarious.
These ‘people’ actually had the audacity to make up a song about their own Ibrox disaster, claiming Celtic fans were singing it, when it couldn’t be further from the truth. This dignity we keep hearing about surely cannot stretch so far as to make up lies about something so tragic in their own history in order to point score over your rival football fans, can it?
Of course it can, look at their lies about Big Jock, a man who helped out on the pitch at the Ibrox disaster himself, a fact which is allowed to be denied on certain websites, to the degree where posting the image is instantly deleted by their admin. You have to laugh at their confusionism, right enough – This week they were using the fact their fans observed a minutes silence when Big Jock passed away as proof that Celtic should have held a minutes silence for the war dead, rather than an applause. This may startle them, but in the real world, away from nasty, hate filled on-line smear campaigns, Big Jock remains a Scottish and Celtic legend who commands respect from everyone within the game. Normal people are disgusted at their fans for using child sex abuse to point score over your rivals, and their entire support chanting ‘There’s only one Gary Glitter’ was a new low. But we’ve already shown that you have no shame in that department with the lies about songs about your own tragedy at the Ibrox Disaster.
Have huns no shame? It would seem not. Most recently they have also prostituted the Poppy in an effort to bring Celtic fans down to their own gutter level. Surely such an important symbol which they claim to harbour nothing but respect for, is beyond their hate? No, you’d be wrong. Once Again. Most reasonable people see the Poppy and Armistice day as a time for reflection, to show their respects for the war dead. Not for these ‘people’. No they have to flaunt it. They have to make up more stories about wearing one, much to the antipathy of ‘Timmy’, who duly is then put in their place by the ‘bear’. They write letters of complaint to everyone from Satan to Santa Claus, begging, absolutely begging them to decry Celtic fans for having the audacity to applaud, to show their respects. Yes, at that point, instead of getting on with showing your own respects you write to every MP, and Journalist they can think of and en masse (possibly the wrong word!) with their usual ‘bluemail’ tactics. It is entirely to their shame that they have been allowed to use the Poppy to become a divisive symbol, in an effort to turn it into a competition about who is grieving more. It demeans the very memory they claim to hold dear, for the inanity of getting another cyberstick they can use to promote their on-line campaigns of hatred.
But it’s always the same, with huns. Take the recent controversy over their newest, racist ditty, ‘The Famine Song’. They claimed it was banter, hell, even their discredited Rangers Supporters Trust put out an edict to that effect. On websites all over cyberspace these racists claimed that they would continue to chant the song, no matter. Much as they claimed at the time about their other horrible anthem ‘The Billy Boys’. Both times there were bold claims… They would take it to the highest court in the land. It would be laughed out of court. The solicitors office junior could win the case, or so we were told.
So what happened?
For a long time, nothing. Which goes to prove that so far as Scotland’s Shame goes, most of the media in Scotland would rather lump themselves in with Rangers fans than speak out against the ghastly chant. No, they’d rather drag Scotland’s name through the mud, yet again. Show Racism the Red Card (Scotland) were no better. Billy Singh, you have let yourself down as well as the anti-racism cause in Scotland. You know yourself that Silence gives consent, and while holding a season ticket for Ibrox, you stayed silent. Eventually, when you did utter a miserable whimper of recognition that it was racist, it was forced upon you by the intervention of the Irish government and has now been mentioned in the European parliament.
So how do the huns react? Do they phone their lawyer? Or even the lawyers office junior?
No, they capitulate. I would have more respect for them had they made a case, legally, for their ‘banter’. But they didn’t and for one good reason. They knew it was racist from the outset. They wanted it to be as offensive as possible. Their anti-Irish hatred blinded them to the fact they were highlighting themselves again as ‘Scotland’s Shame’. To use the vernacular, they shat themselves, to a bear.
So surely their supporters groups would now come out and condemn the song, or defend it? No, you’d be wrong again. The cry was ‘Whit aboot Sellic!!!!’. Again trying to drag us down to their gutter, rather than hauling themselves out. With this ostrich like reaction, and again I include the media along with Scotland’s shame, they are perpetuating the hunnish behaviour of their fans. It will go on and on, lurching to embarrassment after embarrassment for them. Barcelona (1972) didn’t teach them, and all the worlds eyes from then until now, including Manchester (2008) are bearing witness to Scotland’s Shame. No wonder Sir Murray cannot find a buyer.
Now, bear in mind the reason, they claim for TFS is that it’s banter about Scots born ‘Plastic Paddies’. I’m sure that confused the hell out of Noel Hunt when it was aimed at him throughout games against Rangers.
These racists claim that it’s because Celtic fans ‘go on and on about Ireland’ citing songs such as ‘The Fields of Athenrye’ and ‘Let the People Sing’ and ‘Boys of the Old Brigade’ as examples. You couldn’t mark their neck with a blowtorch! They actually had a banner; ‘Where in Ireland is Glasgow’ alongside thousands of ‘red hand of Ulster’ flags, while singing ‘The Sash’, ‘Derrys Walls’, and ‘A Fathers Advice’!
They claim TFOA and LTPS are sectarian, again without any real reason, just because they’re Irish, and that’s enough reason for them to be offended. To them, and those in the media again lining themselves up alongside Scotland’s Shame (again!), if it’s Irish it’s sectarian. The Boys of the Old Brigade is about recognised Irish Patriots and neither sectarian or offensive. Any attempts to claim otherwise are so absurd that the idiots spewing their bile on the net and phone ins should be roundly laughed at for their ignorance, and educated as to the history of the song. Not in Scotland it won’t, no, not while our media are complicit in Scotland’s Shame.
Now, I have a confession to make. I have intentionally over used the word ‘hun’ in this article.
Why? Because these racist, sectarian bigots who have gone out of their way to be as offensive as possible, as detailed earlier, actually take great offence to the word ‘hun’ which they claim to be sectarian. Now this is flawed in oh, so many ways, but we’ll stick to a few basics. Maurice Johnstone was a Hun, and Jock Stein was not. Fans from all over Scotland enjoy singing ‘Go Home Ya Huns’ to you, are you seriously trying to claim all the other clubs in Scotland are Catholic, and Rangers are the only bastion of Protestantism? No, this is yet another attempt to bring Celtic fans (and others) down to your level instead of trying to move into the 21st century all by yourselves. There is no religious motivation in calling you huns. Believe it or not, at Celtic we are proud to have Protestants in our support, our team and our history. Even if you want to take it to another level, Irish Republicans can claim the same. There’s a rebel song you might enjoy, why don’t you go Google ‘You Tube – Brave Protestant Men’? You may even surprise yourself and start singing along.
In short, huns try to be offensive as possible, lying about all manner of things in order to do so, but get all sensitive at being called ‘huns’. You couldn’t make it up.

I cannot believe the amount of bile directed towards the club which I love, the glorious Glasgow Rangers.
Yes, we may have a proud tradition of Racism, Sectarianism and outright Bigotry, but it is these traits which set us apart from ‘normal’ football clubs.
You only have to look at the Papist bigots from across the city, and all their disgusting, headline grabbing, charity work to see the real culprits.
Look at their conduct in Seville. It is said they took 80,000 fans there, NONSENSE. They took about 40,000, at most, and the amount of bottles which were dumped without being recycled, was disgusting. And to think they call themselves ‘Green’! But did it make the news, pffft, don’t be silly.
Compare that to the negative prees about our trip to Manchester. Some tables and chairs were rearranged, a copper, who was most likely corrupt, was punished and a few dogs were set alight and it’s beamed all over the world by the Papist media! Double standards or what???
When we sing ‘We Are The People’ we truly mean it. We are the very epitome of evolution at work. We look down on, and laugh at, all the subhumans who so long to be us. Celtic fans i’ve always found to be decent enough guys who are quite easy to mix with, have a drink with and share a bit of banter and on the occasion they’ve come down here in the last few years there’s been absolutely no trouble whatsoever. I’ve met some decent Rangers fans aswell but i’ve also met some who i’d cross the street to avoid.

I’m a Celtic fan and have no wish to paint a picture of every Celtic fan as some shining beacon of holier-than-thou, whiter-than-white wholesome example of humanity. I admit there are more than a few morons in the support. But hey, when a club has an average home gate of 60,000 this is bound to happen. If you took a poll of 60,000 people in any city in any country in the world there would be a few ‘undesirables’ about. That is human nature.
What I object to is Rangers fans (or even fan as it appears) coming on and attempting to re-write history in order to condone their own vile and obnoxious hatred of all things Celtic, Catholic and Irish (although the 3 are not inextricably linked as some might like to think).
I have no wish to get involved in a slanging match with Rangers fans over who is worst, “Youz did this” and “Youz did that”. It gets us nowhere fast as can be confirmed from the majority of the posts here.
What I want to do is defend the name of Celtic from some of the slanderous lies that are perpetuated by the worst of the Rangers fans who, rather than give undying love to their own club, choose to spout hate-filled bile about their fellow citizens in order to justify their loathing and fear of what they do not understand.
I see the old favourites have appeared again - “Celtic Park was closed down in the 2nd World War due to support of Nazis”, “They covered up child abuse and indeed are all child abusers”, “Rangers didn’t sign Catholics because the Catholics are bigots and didn’t want to sign for them in the first place”, “Celtic was started to keep young Catholic and Irish away from integrating into the rest of society” and “Any Rebel or Irish folk songs that the Celtic fans sing are all bigotted and sectarian so they are worse than us and that is why we hate them”.
All of the above is pure and utter unadulterated propaganda and has no grounding in fact whatsoever. If all of that bjk stuff was true, then how come it has only surfaced in the past couple of years?
I could respond with my own vitriol about Rangers and the worst of their fans and their supposed “Cultural Identity” but it would seriously outdo Liffey’s post above.
Now if any Ranger fan(s) wish to come on and debate in an adult fashion any of the above points please feel free.

The accusation was that Celtic left floodlights on at Parkhead during blackouts in WW2 in order to aid ‘Der Hun’ clarify targets! Who is denying that a proportion of Celtic fans sing IRA songs?
