Is Chelsea forward really on his way out of Stamford Bridge?
by stresster on November 27th, 2008 244 words | 1 commentAccording to the below source, this Chelsea player is going to sprint out of the exit door as soon as the January transfer window opens. This is despite the fact that their headline doesn’t exactly tally up with the quotes that the striker actually makes.
While most newspapers take a more sensible and accurate approach to their reporting, The Sun wade in like a footballer making a two-footed challenge (commit now, repent later). They claim in the headline “I’m off”, referring to Didier Drogba’s time at Chelsea coming to an abrupt end, but where are the comments to back this up?
“You can say the last six months have been the worst in my career.
“It’s been really tough for me. But I’ve been through difficult moments before so I know how to get myself out of these.”
Then, when asked how he would achieve that, the Ivory Coast star ominously smiled and replied: “I will do it.”
What EXACTLY is ominous about the Chelsea forward stating that he will start letting his football do the talking? You could understand if he was waving a one-way ticket to Milan in the air as he made the last statement, but this just appears as though he wants to make amends for being injured and then suspended in the past few months. Does anyone think this is a secret message that he wants to leave the west London club?
