Bordeaux striker Fernando Cavenaghi has welcomed interest from Tottenham.
The Argentina international told Setanta: “I do not know if Tottenham are really interested in signing me. If it’s right, though, I will study this offer because they are a top English team.
“I must say I like the English league, I like it a lot.
“I know many Premier League players, even if there are not many Argentinians up there. Carlos Tevez, Javier Mascherano – I know them well. Why shouldn’t I follow in their footsteps?”
Asked if he was unhappy at Bordeaux, he said: “I would not say I am frustrated. I play every single league game, so it’s only in the Champions League that I come on as a substitute.” (tribalfootball.com)
Well his quotes sounds very much like a ‘come and get me’ plea, but will Harry be listening? The Argentinean has again been in top form with Bordeaux this term, after finishing last season with 22 goals which helped Laurent Blanc’s side into the Champions League, a competition it appears Fernando wishes he played more of a part in. Of course, goals in the French League do not necessarily equate to the ability to succeed in the bigger and better leagues, and that could be one worry any potential bidders have.
So do Spurs fans think the club will follow up their interest in the 25-year-old and put in a bid?

cavinaghi is not good enough
we should focus on getting a defensive midfielder (diarra) , and snatch zaki before the red wankers, and maybe a quality central back 2 play alongside woody
