Arsenal Football Club have set their sights on Brede Hangeland.
The 27-year-old Norwegian international has taken to life in the Premier League with relative ease, following his move to Fulham in the New Year.
It is now being suggested that Arsene Wenger wants to add the former FC Copenhagen ace to his squad in the January transfer window, as he looks to reshape his back four.
The Gunners manager is prepared to splash out around £6million for Hangeland, who stands tall at 6ft 5in and has won 45 caps for his country since 2002. (fansfc.com)
Arsene Wenger has a habit of taking players who are not well known but with potential and making them top class players with a bright future, could this Fulham centre back be his next piece of magic, well maybe?
The giant Norwegian has impressed many this term as he has been the fulcrum of Roy Hodgson’s steady defence, a defence that has dealt manfully with Arsenal and Liverpool and has only conceded 11 goals this season. The Cottagers would be loathed to lose the centre back but if this source is indeed correct and Wenger was to put a bid in, no doubt the player’s head would be turned and then the west London club would be fighting a losing battle to keep the player. Do Gunners fans feel a move for this solid customer would be a wise one?

Seems to me that Wenger’s just wasting money running through CB’s when that’s not likely Arsenal’s problem. Neither Gallas nor Toure just suddenly STOPPED being great centerbacks.
The problem is not the back four but what’s in front of it… an inexperienced and inconsistent midfield leaving them too exposed too often.
