Spurs could be back in the hunt for EXCELLENT £12m Left Winger!

Diego Capel has in recent times established himself as one of the best young wingers in the world. In truth, wide men are a dying breed, which makes the 20-year-old’s throwback approach to the game so much more potent and productive when he’s pitted against modern-day full-backs.
He has risen through the ranks as one of many impressive Sevilla youth products - though he also spent time with Barcelona - and over the past year he has been linked with a move either back to the Catalan capital, or to their rivals Real Madrid.
Furthermore, there were rumours that Juande Ramos planned to bring the winger over to Tottenham Hotspur with him after the coach himself left Andalusia.
Ramos has since been subject to a humiliating dismissal, but Spurs’ interest in the player is said to have remained. Also in the ring for his services are Manchester City, who have all the money in the world to work with since the Abu Dhabi United Group’s takeover, and could see Capel as a natural successor to Martin Petrov.
The winger has on several occasions emphasised his loyalty to the club, but has now made potentially startling declarations that he is willing to leave for a “good offer”, specifically mentioning that it must come from abroad, effectively ruling out the likes of Barca and Madrid. (goal.com)
The name Diego Capel was one at the forefront of most Spurs fans transfer hopes over the summer but the deal never materialised but if he has been accurately quoted as being ready for a move to a foreign club then perhaps Spurs could once again make a move for the winger. The club have also been linked with a move for Stewart Downing in recent weeks but let’s face it, a move for the Spanish international would be a far more intelligent one. Now that Redknapp seems on course to steer the club from the drop a move for the Sevilla man may be a real possibility. Do Tottenham fans like the idea of snaring the £12m rated wide man?

Clearly whoever wrote this doesn’t watch much Spanish football, Capel is a young player with a huge amount of development necessary to become anywhere near world class. He has decent pace and ability to beat a player, but that’s about where it ends. He is a poor crosser, passer, poor decision maker and doesn’t score often and certainly doesn’t drop back to help his defender or midfield
Currently he’s struggling to get in the starting line up at Seville and only got more games last season because of the sad death of their full back which necessitated Adriano playing in a defensive role rather than as an aml
He is a long way short of being a consistently decent player in La Liga never mind effective in the PL
