This determined customer is apparently very near to a move down south but is also apparently drawing admiring glances from some Italian giants also!
Harry Redknapp will step up his bid for Richard Dunne with a £3million offer for the Manchester City defender.
The Spurs boss believes Dunne, 29, could be sacrificed by City in their January shake-up – despite only signing a new fouryear deal in July.
Dunne was pursued by Redknapp, then at Portsmouth, last summer – as well as his White Hart Lane predecessor Juande Ramos. (The People)
Manchester City captain Richard Dunne is attracting Serie A interest.
The Daily Star Sunday says Dunne is a £6m January target for Italian giants Roma and Juventus.
Manchester City skipper Dunne, 29, is also wanted by Portsmouth, Newcastle, Spurs and Sunderland.
Roma – runners-up in Serie A for the past two years – thought they had landed centre-half Dunne last summer. (tribalfootball.com)
Richard Dunne seems to be a solid defender who has the penchant for the occasional lapse of concentration. However he does give his all and for that he is rightly admired by most Man City fans however given the huge pot of cash Mark Hughes has at his disposal it is fair to assume he plans on bringing in defenders who are of the top four calibre which the Dunney Monster is not. A move to Spurs would be a great one for both the Irish international and the north London club but the interest from Roma and Juventus, if true, may be a stumbling point if indeed the centre back opts for a change of scenery and heads to Serie A but I do find that incredible unlikely. Do Tottenham fans feel that the former Everton man could be just the person to help their defence cope with the growing concern over Ledley King’s knees?
