HARRY REDKNAPP is eyeing a January bid for Manchester City’s Elano.
Tottenham boss Redknapp wants the Brazilian to help his side pull clear of relegation danger and launch an assault on the top 10.
Elano, 27, has been left on the bench at Eastlands to accommodate Robinho and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
The midfielder arrived for £8million from Shakhtar Donetsk last year and scored 10 goals in an impressive first season.
But he is now out of favour with City looking to spend big in the New Year. (News of the World)

For some reason Elano has been bench warming in recent weeks and that has led to much speculation that the Brazilian playmaker may be about to leave the club. Last term the former Santos man was in terrific form and whilst this season his top performances have been in patches he has still been good enough to warrant a regular starting spot in my opinion. Liverpool were also said to be considering a move for the attacking midfielder but Harry could tempt the player with a more likely run in the team. He could be just the kind of player that helps Tottenham bridge its midfield and attack and if they can secure the 27 year old for 8m then I think that would be a bargain! Do Spurs fans like the idea of snaring the free scoring player?
