ARSENAL are weighing up a £6million January move for Barcelona’s Yaya Toure.
The Ivory Coast midfielder is set to leave the Nou Camp after falling out of favour and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is now keen to bring him back to the Emirates in a cut-price deal.
Arsenal tried to sign Kolo Toure’s younger brother last season but would not meet the Spaniard’s £15million price-tag.
But Wenger is on the look-out for a proven defensive midfielder in the January window and the powerful African ace — who starred in last season’s Champions League — would fit the bill.
Toure, 25, had a spell on trial in north London three years ago but failed to win a permanent move before being snapped up by Barca.
Ironically, his possible arrival at Arsenal could coincide with his brother’s departure, with Kolo Toure being linked with a move to Manchester City. (The Sun)
Well this rumour is as old as the hills, but seems to have the constituent parts of a deal that could well materialise. One, you have a team that needs an experienced defensive midfielder. Two, you have a player who is unhappy at a lack of first team action. Three, his brother already plays for the club that is supposedly very much interested in his services!
Hey presto, you have a deal that really could happen. This source suggests also that Kolo may leave the Gunners, but he doesn’t strike me as the kind of player who would leave Arsenal any time soon. Wenger made him who he is, and the centre back isn’t about to forget that in the search of a big money move, he is no Flamini! Do Gunners fans think that Yaya may well be on his way to the Emirates?

To Johnny Bravo, are you an idiot? This story is doing the rounds, this guy is reporting the story and then giving his views on it, we can then do the same. He hasn’t made up this story, and the reason it has cropped up a few times is that it’s a story that has been in the tabloids for the last few weeks. Personally i think this could well happen.

yaya toure – 6 million.
what the fuck!… he will cost atleast 3 times that
RayParlourForPresident - December 3rd, 2008 at 12:23 pm
gunner, he would have cost three times that last season when he was one of their star performers however he has only started twice so far this season and 6M is still an impressive profit on what they paid for him.
The thing about this story is that it has been hanging around for too long not to have a semblance of truth,
the bollocks part of it it Kolo leaving – he has always said he wanted to play with his brother and also that his brother is better than him. Why would he leave when he has an option to do what he has always wanted to.
