This late developer has had some outstanding successes in recent years and could well be interested in a move to join the revolution at Eastlands!
City manager Hughes is also weighing up a £6m offer for Italy World Cup winner Fabio Grosso from Lyon.
Hughes has been checking on the 31-year-old left back to make sure he is still capable of the searing forward runs that have become his trademark. Grosso’s good form in the Champions League for his French club have convinced him that the defender can excel in England.
Hughes has been warned off bidding for Chelsea’s Wayne Bridge and Grosso is a realistic target as Lyon are unable to compete with the wages on offer at Eastlands. (Daily Mail)
Fabio Grosso is an accomplished player who could well be looking for a new challenge. The 31 year old left back followed up the excellent World Cup success in 2006 with consecutive league titles in Italy and France but could well jump at the chance of finishing his career at the cash rich Eastlands club. Current left back Javier Garrido has been in good form this term and of course Mark Hughes also has Michael Ball at his disposal but the capture of a player of the calibre of this Italian international would be a significant improvement in my opinion. Do Man City fans prefer Fabio or Chelsea’s Wayne Bridge as a potential left back solution?
