Manchester United are emerging as favourites to land Olympique Lyon ace Karim Benzema.
The People says United are favourites to sign Benzema after Real Madrid ruled out a move for the French striker.
Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to bolster his forward line as his club face a fixture pile-up in the new year.
Ferguson has been tracking the Lyon striker for a long time and was close to signing him before Dimitar Berbatov’s arrival in September.
Benzema, 20, regarded as one of the best young strikers in the world, revealed earlier in the week that it would be his dream to sign for Real Madrid, but is now keeping his options open.
Benzema said: “I like AC Milan and Manchester – I love the English, Italian and Spanish leagues.” (tribalfootball.com)
Well this is interesting! Now, clearly any such move for Benzema could only really occur if Carlos Tevez was not signed permanently from his MSI owners. The French youngster is possibly the most sought after young striker on the planet but the constant speculation hasn’t affected his form at Lyon where he has managed an incredible 13 goals in 20 starts this term. Valued in the region of £35-40m he would not come cheap but if the club did sign him then they would surely have, alongside Barcelona, the most ambitious and talented forward line in the world! Do Man United fans think the club should make this move or stick with what they have?

He will be a good addition for 2 reasons:
1. He is an out and out striker who can score out of nothing. We lack a player who will finish the ball at the moment and i feel he will do.
2. He can offer more competition or even push Rooney out of the team which i have wanted for quite some time. Rooney is not consistent in terms of scoring goals and also holding unto possession. This guy can score and can skillfully open spaces while holding unto possession. I feel he will bring out the best in Rooney and whichever striker we will have.
This is my own opinion. What do u guys think?

Karim Benzema will be flop in any other team in BPL except Arsenal. At Arsenal he can be a legend just like King Henry.

Yes!, Benzema wl be a gd signing. He has pace, gd in both legs & equally lethal in the air. Most importantly, he’s young!. It wud be fantastic if he was to play for the Red Devils!.
Wow!, imagine Benzema, Rooney, CR7, Nani, Anderson, Rafaels’, Wellbeck, Evans, Possebon, Foster & so on. . . !!!. Another 10-15 yrs of trophies!.

It will be fantastic to have Benzema added to Manchester Utd strike force as it will obviously sharpen the attack and can afford to joggle and rest players in view of the tight schedule from january.

the only reason why utd haven´t bought tevez outright is the chance that benzema might be available and while i think utd should sign tevez regardless of whether benzema is bought is becz tevez is a great player full stop and has on many occasions said that he wants to sign.and i would prefer to have a player that is 100% commited to the club.
benzema on the otherhand would offer utd something that is missing in utd´s strike-force and thats out right pace.
i would love to have all 4 @ utd but cant see it happening and with welbeck, campbell, petrucci etc coming thru it will be very difficult.

I think that Benzema would be great addition, but that probably means that Tevez will end up somewhere else, which is something I would not like. At this moment, I think that buying Berbatov, especially for the price they did that, was bad decision. Benzema would be much better for them, especially cause he would give something new to the team, something that Berbatov does not have. Bulgarian is an excellent player, but one who like to have ball at his feet. United is missing a player like Saha (but with better finishing) who would use space created by other players. Benzema could be just that. Problem is that even if Fergie buys him and sell Tevez, he will once again have 3 world class strikers. Maybe the good option would be to sell Ronaldo, and then playing three of them together.
