Liverpool CHASE £9m Strike ace: Could be good partner for Torres

Liverpool are chasing Hamburg striker Ivica Olic.
The experienced Croatia international is coming off contract in the summer and is ready to quit the Bundesliga.
Valencia and Villarreal are confirmed suitors and the Sunday Mirror says Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is also keen on the pacy Olic. (tribalfootball.com)
Olic is a talented nippy front man who also works well out on the left and this is the not the first time his name has cropped up in relation to speculation of a move to Merseyside. Last term he finished top scorer at SV Hamburg which helped the side into fourth spot and new boss Martin Jol will be loathed to let him leave but the Croatian international may feel that any ambition to play in the Champions League could be more effectively achieved at Liverpool a club who of the kind of stature that is sure to turn the 29 year old former CSKA Moscow star’s head. Do Anfield supporters think that Olic could be a clever signing?

No i’d prefer to see Fernando Cavenaghi, i just don’t think Olic has the quality but still at a good price whereas Cavenaghi is about £14 million and is much better.
RED FOR LIFE. - December 9th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
yh same with olic……but first after the flop of keane i think the owners will like us offloading keane…..
there are lot of strikers in the world who wants to come to us but we dont offer…..thats the probblem with our owners but they gave us the money last term and look what happened 4 goals in how many games for keane……i think rafa definately has to sell him even though i was backing him
chris - December 9th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
there is much more to keanes game than just goals. give him time and he will start scoring
Rick - December 10th, 2008 at 1:41 am
I agree with chris. Plus, for £9 for a 29 year old striker, why not just save £6-7 and get Owen?
jebote - December 10th, 2008 at 5:10 am
i agree with chris. give keane a bit more time and he will score goals.
buying olic would be better than owen in my opinion. owen is too injury prone and is too big a risk. unless we can get him for about 2-3 million. only then will i think its worth a gamble. olic is very similar to dirk kuyt. thtat is why “if” rafa is interested he would want him. the only difference is he is a lot quicker than kuyt and much more deadly infront of goal. he lacks skill but works his ass off.
if i had to rate this rumour at about 5/10. cant really rely on this site too much but olic is a rafa type player.
csho - December 10th, 2008 at 7:39 am
we should just get owen for2 m and leave him a 50,000 weekly wages with a take it or leave it clause?he’s a proven striker who is dying to come back to anfield for less!
bobbyc - December 10th, 2008 at 8:13 am
read the headline ; COULD BE GOOD PARTNER FOR TORRES?
this was said about keane also, liverpool need a goalscorer and not just a partner for torres , torres misses a vital amount of games each year so we need an out an out goalscorer to take his place , id look at owen or zaki
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Do we really need any more strikers??? We have Keane Torres Babel and N’Gog in the first team with Nemeth and Pacheco very close behind, let’s develop these players and see what we can achieve. If we made one signing in Jan i would sign Ben Arfa.
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 9:18 am
9torres, yes we have the strikers listed along with Kuyt, but unfortunately there is only one Torres type player in our squad, Secondly the last 2 lads you mentioned never get a look in, you could also take Ngog out of the equation as Raffa dosent play him in the league, therefore we are left with,
Keane - still has not proved himself and is allergic to scoring goals.
Torres - one of the best finishers around
Kuyt - nothing like torres / great worker etc,etc
Babel - Raffa dosent play this lad up front too often, actually hardly ever.
So you would have to say, yes, we do need another striker based on this evidence / assesment.
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 9:25 am
If we could afford Villa or Aguero i would agree, but we can afford anyone who offers more than we already have. Plus like we have pointed out before the priority should be right wing (now that Insua and Darby are getting their chance and Dossena has improved) and then fullbacks imo.
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 9:26 am
that should be ‘can’t afford’
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 9:39 am
Ok, look at it this way, when Torres plays Gerrard(and he has mentioned this himself, loves playing with Torres or a Torres type player) when he is out we are limited, yes we need a right winger but Babel is a good option here, as it would be easier to get a good striker than a good winger as they are like hens teeth or cost an arm and a leg. Torres frightens defenders and the oposition play a more defensive type system when Torres plays than lets say Kuyt or Keane.
Are you saying that Podolski would not be better than what we already have aside from Torres?
dave in ireland - December 10th, 2008 at 9:42 am
Good Morning 9torres ,
A good result last night , after watching the game I can understand Robbie Keanes frustration , Babel had lots of chances to play him but did not . Also great to see the younger guys getting a run out and they did great . It is time to settle , take stock of the playing staff , see who we can cash for ( Voronin , Pennant , Itandje , Deggem , etc.) and just add experienced cover up front .
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 9:55 am
Morning all,
Yes i think Podolski would be a good addition but i think he may become a Baros, he seems to be great in major tournaments but does he produce domestically? I’ve not seen enough of him to judge. I just think we are already gambling on Babel and N’gog do we need another gamble already or would only a world class striker be worth sacrificing the development of these two?
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 10:00 am
agree with 9torres…give our youngster a chance..
buy right winger..
or if rafa want buy striker, don’t buy “second class” striker…buy top class like benzema or aguero..but maybe we don’t have enough money to do that….
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
Yes a world class striker would be great, but I am thinking about the Finances, Podolski for 13 mill approx or Benzema for 30 odd mill, I dont believe we are in the 30 mill league, no matter who we sell, and yes a good winger would be great, but they need to be feeding a good striker who puts the ball in the back of the net and we only have one of those Torres. If he is out, then what.
Lets put it this way,
Manure have,
Tevez, Rooney, Berbatoff, Ronaldo and are reported to be looking at Benzema,
Barcelona have Messi, Henry, Eto, Bojran, Innesta, Xavi, etc good goal scorers
Chelski have, Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Joe Cole, Lampard, Ballack etc, good goal scorers
We have Gerrard and Torres, name our other good goal scorers.
rabc666 - December 10th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
learn the lesson from the bergkamp example. i think henry is a big fan of the pool. 31, still a few years in him. can play up front or either wing. reira’s coming along nicely. think babel could learn a lot from henry. we need players that want to run at defenders. not enough world class players in the squad
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
I get your point entirely, what would we do with Babel, N’gog, Kuyt, Keane etc? Do you think we could afford Podolski?
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
rabc666 - December 10th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
. not enough world class players in the squad
Correct!!!
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Babel - this lad has winger and striker ability, keep him.
Ngog, - young only 19, cost F.A., Personally I think this lad would be worth keeping.
Kuyt - Great engine, reall work horse, no pace, cant really shoot with any conviction, more likely to hit the back of the Kop than the net, Personally LFC should have better than this lad in our squad, but, I wouldnt give him away either, if someone came in with a good offer then let him go.
Keane - this lad was a big fish in a small pond at Spurs now he is a small fish in a big pond, he is just not cutting the mustard, 5 mill or 20 mill, the price tag dosent mean we should either keep him or play him, Torres is out, you look at what would be considered as the next bet thing, Keane, has he delivered? No, are there any real excuses, no, except for his lack of pace and ability. Personall I would sell him, I hate to say this but didnt taggart mention a couple of years ago that he wouldnt even get manures reserve team.
Honest question, is Robbie Keane good enough for LFC, personally i have to say No.
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
With regards to can we afford Podolski, once again we have plenty of waste we can get rid of to counterbalance to the cost of Podolski.
So yes, we could afford him, but we must sell first.
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Pennant, Itandje, Voronin and…?
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
Yossi - just not good enough
Dossena - hasnt played one really outstanding game where you could turn around and say, yep thats why we paid 7 mill for this bloke.
Question, before I name any more, how many DFM do we need, Masch Lucas, Plesis, Alonso,?
Arbeloa - not a world class defender, no matter what anyone thinks.
Plesis - use him or loose him, cut wages, and I am sure that there are plenty more in the reserves like him, dont get me wrong, seems ok player, but not attack minded, and like I said how many DFM do we need.
Lucas - played ok last night, but over the last no of years hasnt shone thru, another DFM, do we need him.
If you dont agree with the names above, ask yourself this question.
If all of the above were put on sale in the morning would
Manure,
Chelski,
Arsenal,
Barcelona,
Inter Milan
ACMilan
Real Madrid, etc
even consider offering for any these players. I think the ans would be No.
So the way I look at it is, if these players are not good enough for these clubs they definately are not good enough for LFC, same goes with us been linked with averahe or poor players, Heskey, etc, none of thes clubs would enen consider these type of players, why should we.?
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
I agree with Yossi being shipped out, Dossena i’d stick with he’s first choice left back for italy and Zambrotta, Chiellini, Canavarro all rate him highly apparently, Plessis cost nothing and is worth nurturing, even if it’s to increase the amount we get for him when we do sell him. Lucas is an attacking midfielder, its just when Gerrard is fit (which is 95% of the time) he doesn’t get to play in his best position. I can’t see Rafa rating him as highly as he does without him having something about him. He said in the press the other day that Lucas will become a massive player for the club in the next few yearsI met a couple of Brazilians on holiday over the summer who rate him as highly as they do Anderson from united, thet seemed to think they are the future pairing for their midfield at national level.
The only thing i can say is that all those clubs you have named above have been winning league titles consistently (every 1-4 years) and unfortunately we haven’t. In order to attract the top players and be able to afford them we need to start finishing in the top two, as either champions or runners up and then push on from there with the correct buys. We are doing well in the CL and have been consistently under Rafa, thus enabling us to sign Torres, Keane etc but we need domestic success to take our power and influence to the next level. Plus i can’t really think of too many players who have come in in Jan and have played a major part in the rest of that season.
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Well right now, if I was to put my head on the choping block I would play Insua before Dossena, which to me would raise the quastion why keep dossena, except for back up, trust me Dossena, will make a major f*ck up yet and it will cost us, then people will once again be screanming for his head, also Zambrotta, Canavaro and Chellini, they are qualified to give their opinion about players playing in Italy but not in the EPL, im sure there were world class reviews about Juan Sabastian Veron also, before he came to the EPL, and look what happened to him.
Same goes for Lucas, I am not doubting his ability of x no of years ago, but from what I have seen with my own eye’s he does not have the ability of a CAM, for the EPL, he may have been ok for the Brazilian league, but not for the EPL, how often have you seen Lucas go past players, nut meg, turn players, etc, no matter what position you are playing in, you either have these abilities or you dont, moving 30 yards up the field will not all of a sudden mean you can attack with purpose or flair. Would you like to depend on Lucas as an attacking replacement for Gerrard right now? and yes it is the here and now that I am concerned with, not the so called future that I have been hearing for nearly 2 decades.
Yes I agree we need domestic success to help attract players, but a lot of questions have also to be asked about our actual purchases as well, I dont believe that there are that many world class players going to turn us down if we really show an interest, the problem I have is that we never really seem to show the interest in so called world class players for whatever reason, money aside.
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I know the Dossena fuck-up issue will always be in the back of my mind im just still to be convinced that we should get rid just yet, after all Riise fucked-up against Chelsea but he was a really good player for us the many years of service before that moment, maybe it will be a reversal with Dossena?
As with Lucas, he proved he has got it in his locker to be a clever player and influence the game as he did yesterday so who is to say that as the season progresses he won’t begin to do that consistently?
I’m sure we still can attract the best players, money is the only thing stopping us.
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
I do hope your right and that I am wrong.
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
I hope so, but as someone who hates to wait for things it is very unfortunate that we are going to have to wait to see how these players pan out.
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
I know, I just think that the writing is on the wall for at least some if not all of the above mentioned players.
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
If we could replace Yossi with Ben Arfa, Dossena with Lahm, Voronin with Podolski, Pennant with Valencia and Deggen with Rafinha we would be sorted for a season or two if they could all be kept happy. It’s just making that situation come about.
jo - December 10th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
we need 1 more good goalscorer, i would get defoe or zaci.
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
ite lads i reckon we sell
babel 20 mill (said he wants 2 leave)
benayoun 8 mil same as babel
vorinin 5 million
degen 4 million
itjande 3 millon
cavelri 5 million simply not gud back up 4 riena
pennant 6 million
if all that goes 2 plan we then have 51 million then rafa shud spend it WISELY on a left back ,right back ,2right wingers back up goalie whos abt 30-35 cumin 2 the end of his career and a striker or 2 for back up
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
i wud get realisticly
bale
johnson (glen)
jasskilainin
elano
schweinstiger C
owen C
podolski or henry or defoe
henry depending how much we have left
defoe same as above
they would be cheap apart from bale and podolski/henry/defoe
C= contract expiring
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
oh and sell plesis for 4 million
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
danny ARE YOU MENTAL?? lol
Babel is worth about £12-15m and hasn’t said he wants to leave, he asked if he could go on loan to get some more playing time.
Benayoun is not worth £8m more realistically £5m and yes i hope we do get rid of him.
The others i agree with, apart from Cavalieri who i think has done well since he joined. He’s only 26 and i think we did really well to get him considering his ability/potential.
Schweinsteiger would be the best buy out of the ones you have suggested, along with Podolski.
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
oh and bridge would be gud or diego capel
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
we cud do a straight swap elano for benayoun their has been talk of it id do that and buy schweinstiger
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Cavalieri will not get a chance hes not gud back up for reina. reina is 25 we need a goalie that is oldish 30 -35 think abt it riena gets injured were snookerd
Hemanta - December 10th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
For me , had rafa given as much chance to babel as to keane , then we might have had someone better than keane at scoring, now . I just hate the fact that Rafa do not apply for two target man ,( torress and babel up front) but to a scorrer and a feeder. both of them has deadly pace and babel can learn from the hitman.I would be satisfied if we buy a regular winger and leave babel only for forward option.
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
why does he have to be 30-35?? surely any keeper who is any good at that age will be wanting first team football consistantly??
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
because as they get on abit they will play few and few games thats why the goalie has 2 be a bit old plus will keep reina on his toes
9torres - December 10th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I think you’re looking at it the wrong way mate, Arsenal reserve keeper - Fabianski, United - Foster/Kuzchak (pardon the spelling), Chelsea have Cudicini. It’s only the lower clubs who have the Richards Wrights of the world in reserve.
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
As a back up I cant see what is wrong with Cavalieri, based on the fact that he has done nothing wrong to my recolaction, or has he flapped and I just cant remember. Even if he has, I dont see him as a major problem at the moment, we have bigger issues than a goalie.
Steve McMahon - December 10th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Hemanta - December 10th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Correct.!
danny - December 10th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
a old goalie would be cheaper look at friedal and schwazer

We need world class players not good/average. Little rafa should stop buying quantity and start buying quality.
...5 times - December 10th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
Keane will come good.
his peformance last night proved that.
he made the right runs but was not given the service he needed.
his passing was superb and his work-rate was top notch.
The team was built around Torres and Gerrard so it must be hard for keane to come in and play. Also Torres and Gerrard have been injured at different times so Keane hasn’t had much chance to play with both. YNWA
Trever - December 10th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Good torres has been isolated up the field with only dirk kuyt how is not the best partner.
It will be good to get an experienced striker how could work off torres and hopefully score a few goals.
Good post

Mitch IRONSSSSSS - December 10th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
im a west ham and have found readin all ur comments quite interesting, altho i dnt support liverpool at all and rlly dnt like them i wdnt mind seein u winnign the league this year simply for the fact it would be nice to see someone else win it.
when u played us (hammers) the other day u seemed to lack width and players with quality on the ball, u only really have gerrard and torres who do, and of course torres wasnt playing. riera i can see being a success but on the right flank playing kuyt is never going to get u anywhere, u need someone tht can run the byline and get quality crosses in, schweinsteiger would be a quality signing for u guys and wdnt be too expensive. ur full backs are just way too average, if u compare them to mancs and chelskis then you can rlly see the differance in class… yes they are solid defenders but they dont do anything when it comes to attacking, they didnt give us one problem last week , which made it easy for us to defend against. babel in my opinion is a quality player and u shd definately not get rid, hes a player tht in 2 years time cd be topping the goalscoring charts for u given the chance, altho he has made some good appearences coming on and playing from the left i feel he shd be given more of a chance as a striker bcoz the kids got a cracking shot on him and really reminds me of henry when he was younger. but ialso thought looking at ur team u cd rlly do with a target man, i know you have got torres, but he doesnt just play as a target man he can peel off and run in behind too so i thought huntelaar wd have been perfect but obviously real madrid have him now so tht cant happen. on the positive side i do feel keane and torres can work, thers no reason it cant, when u stick two quality players up front together ther is no excuse, whicch to me they definately are, keane may have lost his legs abit now but his movement and intelligence is subline and if u feed the ball from midfield in the right way to him then he is going to get u plenty of goals
sorry if ive written alot but i was quite interested and thought id say
good luck for the season lads
come on you ironssssss
LFC - December 10th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
But surely this money could’ve been used better on e.g.aguero, huntelaar, benzema.
red - December 10th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
evening all
not sure we should be being linked with ‘experienced’ players from so-called lesser leagues. i’d rather stick with what we have until the end of the season and then literally dump half the first team squad.
i still find it quite staggering how players such as benayoun, lucas, dossena et al. can earn more in a week than most of us earn in a year and turn out inept performances week in week out.
having said that, as rafa is about to sign a long-term deal (which is great for consistency and all that) I think he needs to completely re-evaluate his scouting system. Man Ure, Arsenal and Chelski (to some extent) have a great knack of picking up quality youngsters and nurturing them into world class first team players. We,, however, by youngsters that (a) don’t get a chance and (b) when they do, are inevitably crap.
what we need to do is have a squad such as man ure’s where we’re only buying one or two first teamers each season that are quality and world class. i fear another summer of revolving door transfers again as rafa looks to ‘tweak’ hus team. i don’t think we can afford another summer of pennants and other second rate players. hopefully the board see how well we’ve done this season and back rafa to buy 5 world class players.
Smoochy - December 10th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Bonjour all,
Why buy 29 year olds that know one has heard of. If a very ‘talented’ player was 29, don’t you think you would have heard his name before. If we are going to buy a striker, why don’t we let some of the youngsters through. Believe it or not, we actually have some quality in our youngsters but it is so hard to gain experience if Rafa keeps on buying players like Keane and Olic. Nemeth or Pacheco would probably make a good strike partner for Torres if they played, I think they are both around 19 and this is the time in their careers that they should gain some premier league experience. Look at Fabregas, he’s always guarenteed a first team spot and he’s now a captain at the age of 19.
Also Lucas is a great player, but, he never gets games because Rafa’s squad has an overcrowded midfield. And it is very hard to get a game if you’ve got to compete with Gerrard, Alonso, Masch… I think Lucas should be loaned out along with some other youngsters to a championship side to gain experience of the british game.

kermit - December 10th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
you all write robbie keane off too much , he will come good
kermit - December 10th, 2008 at 11:24 pm
agrees with red that lucas is a great player short on confidence from not playing matches and played as a defensive holding midfielder when all his instincts are of an attacking midfielder, been thinking lucas should be loaned out also for a year but to fulham or another premiership side not championship and definately not sold at the end of it, maybe bolton or somewhere close that he needn t move again
totally agrees with mitch about keane and maybe you are a bit harsh on the fullbacks arbeloa is having a good season , left back is more of a problem but dossena is a good player given time to adapt and insua looked okay , evra took over a year to adapt , i wouldnt write either dossena or keane off yet
and whoever entioned babel bang on, he s class waiting to happen
i d play gerrard on the right with keane in the team i think gerrard runs into the space that keane likes to operate on the field too much when he plays central, then have masch and alonso central gerrard right babel left keane and torres up front, now thats a fucking midfield and forward line to fear or alonso and lucas for home teams if he is not loaned out , i get the sense lucas is gerrard s long term replacemtn so a loan to blackburn wigan or fulham all close to liverpool would be okay, but keep close ties to him at liverpool
ngog showed signs of what he is good at last night , lucas showed a brief glimpse of his potential ( you dont get to be captain of brazil at any age if you arent a good foootballer), i am one of few people who have totally been behind lucas all the way since we bought him
rafa makes me really mad at times by trying to mould his players into different positions ie kuyt is a supporting striker not a right winger , robbie keane isnt a lone striker never has been never will be he loves to drop off and link up play , torres was an up front alone striker always at altetico so it lll take time for him to get used to playing with a partner, lucas played as a holding midfielder when in brazil he was scoring goals galore as an attacking midfielder, babel played left wing right wing, i sometimes wonder if benitexzz knows the strengths and weaknesses of his players and if he does why the fuck he does not play to them
babel could be a massive player for liverpool so why isnt he given more freedom like ronaldo at man utdfreedom to attack attack attack, i dunno its not in rafas nature to win by scoring more goals that the other team
but it is in alex fergusons which makes his team more enjoyable to watch, and still they are solid defensively, so why not at liverpool, why not more freedom and expression in the game rafa why have to keep everything so tight and organised and compacted, let the players playm to their natural strengths and work on their weaknessesi mean i like the system away from home of 4 3 2 1
4 2 3 1
but why not 4 1 4 1
with masch covering the defnesive midfield duties surely two holding midfielders arent neccesary against mid fucking table teams
i d like to see gerrard and lucas playing together ahead of mascherano oncebut my preferred formation is 442
arbeloa skrtel carra dossena
gerrard masch alonso babel
keane
torres

9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 9:03 am
23 year old, and i’m guessing you’re either 14 or at least have a mental age similar to that. Why slag someone off and then complain you dont have time for their response? Writing in capital also makes you look even more stupid, along with the inability to construct a decent sentence.
Steve McMahon - December 11th, 2008 at 9:15 am
9torres, leave poor Everton alone, Everton cant do battle with the big 4 on the field, he is only trying to be competitive with a keyboard, its Evertons only shout at been remembered this season, go on Everton, you stand your ground, your a small club but dont let the big boys push you around, forget the fact that ye are only 8 in the league and we are top, be happy with the fact the ye are not in the relegation zone yet as thats your main ambition this year, staying up.
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 9:56 am

9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 10:27 am

Sorry to burst your bubble but ehm, you are kind of talking through your rear end now lad, whats clear about it? the only clear thing from my point of view is that you have issues, I dont know what they are and they are none of my business, but for your own sake lad, get some help, sort it out, dont do anything stupid.
You take care now, ok.
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 11:03 am

Steve McMahon - December 11th, 2008 at 11:26 am

Coggin - December 11th, 2008 at 11:27 am
That can’t be a real post from Everton it has correct spelling and commas and everything, now though I doubt 9torres and steve McMahon to be the same person even if they were you get two lots of sensible comments on here instead of none from EVERTON so go and find you own site and discuss your problems with them
Hitler - December 11th, 2008 at 11:29 am

EVERTON - December 11th, 2008 at 11:30 am

Coggin - December 11th, 2008 at 11:38 am
9torres
Also don’t forget that there is no greater flattery than someone wanting to be you or pretending to be you so really EVERTON just wants to be you and a bona fide Liverpool supporter, kind of sad isn’t it, Bless him…
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Haha, too true, too true… Although i’d watch out Coggin, us agreeing may make others think we are the same person.

Does anyone else think EVERTON is actually David Moyes??? Guess none of the mainstream media wants to talk to him so he comes on this forum…
Coggin - December 11th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
EVERTON
I will check with my sister to see if she is keen, she is married to a Geordie so her taste in football teams would bode in your favor, she may be too old for you as your style of writing is of adolescence but maybe that’s just your way.
As this is a serious site for debating how about we discuss your chances on Saturday against Man c… Tough away game but I think a 2-2 draw
YNWA
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
i think you may be on to something there red, either that or it’s Cahill and he’s still upset
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
I’m going for 2-1 City, Everton to score first and Robinho and Ireland to break their little hearts.
EVERTON - December 11th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE REF IF HE BLOWS 90 MINS OF FOOTBALL EVERTON WILL WIN 2:1 IF HE IS A COMPLETE IDIOT & BELIEVE FOOTBALL IS A 99 MIN GAME THEN WE WILL LOSE 3:2 & WHAT ABOUT U HULL AT HOME DONT EXPECT TO WIN 1:0 HULL
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 1:16 pm

EVERTON - December 11th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
DO I LOOK LIKE MOYES U FUCKING CUNT.ALL IM SAYING IS U CHEAT & DIVE TO GET TO THE TOP & U STILL PROUD OF YOURSELF FUCKING IDIOT .ILL RATHER LAY BOTTEM OF THE LOG & PLAY FAIR FOOTBALL THAN TO BE TOP BECAUSE OF LYING & CHEATING
Coggin - December 11th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
EVERTON
I don’t’ think it will be a draw at home to Hull, a good team sitting in 6th place but they will face a fresh Liverpool team on Saturday and I think a 3-1 or 3-0 result to us is more than likely, a win for us will be better for you anyway as you are 4 points behind them so if you can win or draw to City then it closes the gap and surely you would rather that then not.
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Like i said, i can’t see you! How do we cheat?? there has been one incident all season that could be considered a dive and even that is debatable. I am proud of my team and everything they represent, and we are top and we have a bright future, and we are pretty much everything that Everton FC would love to be.
EVERTON - December 11th, 2008 at 2:16 pm

Clever comment, Everton, your blood must be boiling over to write such a daft comment, “anyone ever tell you, you have a face built for Radio”.
We cheat and dive, sounds rich coming from a fan of a team that used to have Andy Johnson in their ranks, I think I can also remember a certain Yak getting booked earlier in the season for diving if im not mistaking.
Take a good look at your own team first Everton, then you’ll realise that you are in no position to slag any team off about diving.
9torres - December 11th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
mate, i think you may have left EVERTON as your username from one of your last posts haha

Sammy Lee - December 11th, 2008 at 11:21 pm
Leave poor old Everton alone..he is having a bad day as he has just found out that the Red half of town has a decent trophy cabinet.
Steve McMahon - December 12th, 2008 at 10:52 am
I reckon he has just taken a tour of Anfield’s trophy room and he has just lost the plot.
YozzaScouser - December 12th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
Lol , hilarious comments, but back to the topic here , how real are these rumours of podolski coming in the transfer window on loan ? if they are true, we could well finally have the person to be a PERFECT partnership with Torres (On paper at least), wether it will work remains to be seen, hull city have shown they can play football, im feeling Robbie keane comes good, makes a run in the second half fed by Riera/Babel , cool, calm, collected finish.
Everton 1 - Man city 4 - Robinho free kick, Wright philips hat trick possibly, im thinking man city are gonna make everton look like amateurs
For future plans, Offload keane asap me thinks, i like him , i like him alot , i want him to succeed , but truth is , hes just too greedy and hasnt got the pace he used to have. so bin robbie , possibly throw gerrard right wing (even tho he hates it, his skill with delivery will be devastating if podolski AND torres are both on the pitch.
And finally I THANK THE LORD I DONT POSSESS , NONE OF THAT BLUE SHITE BITTER - NESS!!!
Alan - December 12th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
Podolski would be good, but is he consistent enough?
