JUANDE RAMOS was last night appointed Real Madrid boss – and immediately put Spurs stars David Bentley and Aaron Lennon on his wanted list.

Ramos was sacked by Tottenham in October after leading them to their worst ever Premier League start.

Ramos replaced Bernd Schuster in the Bernabeu hot-seat yesterday and he’s been promised a new winger when the transfer window opens in January – and both Bentley and Lennon are on his shortlist because neither is cup-tied to play in the Champions League this season.

Real are trailing rivals Barcelona in the league, have struggled to qualify from their Champions League group, and have a crippling injury list.

President Ramon Calderon swooped for Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Ajax last week, but he needs a wide forward.

Having sold Robinho to Manchester City, injury-p
rone Arjen Robben is their only available wide man.

But both Bentley 24, and Lennon, 21, are among the contenders to solve that problem, along with Bayern Munich’s Bastien Schweinsteiger and Napoli’s Marek Hamsik. (Daily Star)

Well this is interesting. Juande Ramos managed to get himself a pretty good job months after he was axed at White Hart Lane but Tottenham needn’t lose any sleep over that with Harry Redknapp performing magically since he arrived at the club, however I am not convinced that this report is likely to hold an ounce of truth. Aaron Lennon has been in marvelous form in recent weeks and I can see why he and David Bentley would be wanted by most clubs I just don’t see them being the subject of a bid from the La Liga title holders. Madrid may be missing a bit of nous out wide but I feel a move for German international Schweinsteiger is far more likely. Do Spurs fans think that Juande will try to snare any of his former players?
