William Gallas will be allowed to join Juventus for just £3million.
People Sport exclusively revealed last week that Juve boss Claudio Ranieri wants to sign the disgraced former Arsenal captain in January – and the clubs met last week to thrash out a deal.
Arsene Wenger has given his blessing, despite public claims to the contrary, after Gallas was stripped of the captaincy for an outrageous attack on his team-mates. Arsenal would rather Gallas went to Turin than join a Premier League rival. (The People)
According to this source Arsene is happy to let this deal take place and many must feel that the day has come for the north London club to cut its losses on the former Chelsea man, not for his performances on the field but for his demeanour off it or in the case of the St Andrews saga last season, on the field but after the whistle. William Gallas has been a reasonably steady performer since his move from Stamford Bridge two and a bit years ago but to be honest I am sure that Wenger will be thinking that his failings as a captain or indeed as a presence in the dressing room he is in many ways just not worth the aggravation. Obviously the fact that Ranieri was the man who brought the former Marseille man to the Premier League in the first place has leant more weight to this potential move but either way I would be very surprised if the Arsenal number 10 is at the club for much longer. Do Gunners fans think it’s time Arsene let Gallas head for the exit?

i think it is not necessarily a bad thing to let him go…. but the key thing is to replace him with a QUALITY centreback….
we’ve been linked to Hangeland of Fulham, who looks solid, but top quality centre-backs seem to be in short supply!!
we will miss his important goals though…..

I heard we are bidding for Roma CB Mexes to replace Gallas. He is a decent CB and with CL experience should be an Interesting Jan for Arsenal fans.

i agree with raj…hangeland looks impressive when i’ve seen him play. and is exactly the type of player arsenal r missing, a tall strong and intimidating defender

hehehe…. good tat u dint say gallas’s goin to juve for free…
cos tat wud hav been even more make believe…
PATHETIC STRING…
Wenger has clearly said he wud not let gallas go… n by t looks of our defences (however leaky it might look)… throwin away our most experienced defender aint a solution… it can be actually termed harakiri….
gallas aint goin nowher,,, this is just a publicity stunt by ranieri to save his job….
raneiri can keep dreamin abt him…
