Having tasted the goods this Spanish outfit wants to secure another spell from this talented youngster.
Salamanca are ready to make an audacious bid to take Arsenal’s Mexican sensation Carlos Vela back to Spain on loan for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old spent a season with the Spanish second division side two years ago after he was forced to wait for a work permit which would allow him to play in England.
With Arsenal out of the Carling Cup, and Eduardo set to return to action in the near future, Vela’s chances of game time at Arsenal will be limited.
Now Salamanca chairman, Juanjo Pascual, wants to take the speedy striker on loan again.
He said: “Vela? Sure, he is a player Salamanca are interested in. Such a talented kid will always be warmly welcomed.” (Daily Mirror)
Carlos Vela definitely has what it takes to make it at Arsenal but is he part of the club’s immediate plans? Well like many I am bemused by the fact that Wenger still resorts to using the no-so Great Dane Nicklas Bendtner when RVP or Adebayor are off form or not 100%, but with Eduardo on the mend could the Mexican striker be allowed to leave for a move back to Salamanca in January? Personally I doubt this would be a move that Arsene would entertain, not now that Vela has shown (albeit in fits and starts) that he has what it takes to be given a shot at the Emirates first team. Why not offer the Spanish side Nicklas instead and see what they say! Who do Gunners fans think, injuries permitting, should be the clubs first choice strike partnership?
