Tottenham boss set to offload midfield for the chance to play a game of Russian Roulette: Redknapp’s gone mad!
by offsidetrap on January 14th, 2009Harry Redknapp is known as a master motivator when it comes to change the psyche of his squad; but if there’s one thing he has a hard time doing, it’s knowing when to just say no to an offer. Why would he even consider since a move?
Jermaine Jenas will be offered to Inter Milan in exchange for the services of Adriano.
Executives from Tottenham were today reportedly holding a teleconference to discuss the future of the midfielder.
It is believed the services of the midfielder will be offered as part of a six-month loan deal to take Brazil striker Adriano to White Hart Lane.
Jenas has made more than 100 appearances for Spurs since joining the club in August 2005 but Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is prepared to sacrifice the 25-year-old to sign Adriano. (Daily Mail)
Adriano has been one of the biggest busts in football. Need more proof? Just google his name and see the often tubby striker out on the town. There’s a reason why he isn’t playing at Inter; and no, it doesn’t have anything to do with his relationship with Jose Mourinho.
If Mourinho needed him, it wouldn’t matter if they got along or not. So why is Harry considering moving Jenas for a striker that is nothing more than a project?
Do Spurs supporters really believe Adriano is worth moving Jenas to Inter?

Arent you lot about 5 hours late in publishing this story? By the time you put it out Adrianos agent has already denied that any deal is going ahead. As for Jenas, if you really believe Mourinho would go for Jenas, you must be on something! Stop reading the Daily Mail, everyone knows its not worth the paper its written on
Spurs56 - January 14th, 2009 at 5:33 pm
To be honest I think we can get along without JJ as he isn’t ever massively influential in midfield other than on certain occasions e.g: the Ar5ena1 game. However, I don’t think Adriano is the player Spurs need really, we need a midfielder/forward who can unlock defences and make the killer pass, Adriano is the sort of player who gets on the end of those passes.
Optimistic - January 14th, 2009 at 6:01 pm
because Adriano is world class
Jennas is a fucking Bastard
jacko - January 14th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
we don’t need Adriano - we need Morinho
bazza - January 14th, 2009 at 6:22 pm
Jenas has been terrible this season, so no big loss there, Adriano may be a major risk, but against a player who’s a total waste of space where’s the downside?
The Rock of Anfield - January 14th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
If Adriano’s in form he is world class, if he isn’t in form he’s not. Plain Simple.
I think it will benifit Tottenham very much as modric and huddlestone will play as good CM partners
A good spurs team-4-3-3
Gomes
Hutton King Woody Corkula
Lennon Modric Bentley
Defoe Adriano Pavlyuchenco
plamen - January 14th, 2009 at 6:58 pm

i agree with spurs56…. I still want Podolski.
jo - January 15th, 2009 at 2:27 am
i agree with pamen too. give dos santos and adel taarabt a chance. These 2 have speeds and amazing dribbling skill. Also, Harry don’t sell Bale pleaseee.
RayParlourForPresident - January 15th, 2009 at 10:03 am
not a spurs fan but I have to admit I always thought you got rid of the wrong Jermaine when you let Defoe go, Jenas is shocking and has been for a while, although he does score some useful goals he disappears for long periods and lacks class in terms of passing, Adriano whilst a risk still has an impressive goal scoring to appearances record despite being out of favour.
I also agree that Dos Santos looks good if a little inconsistent however isn’t fit enough.
Bentley was a mistake, Bent was a mistake but allowing Berbatov and Keane to leave at the same time was the biggest error you lot have made although I appreciate you didn’t have too much choice with the latter.
where is all your cash coming from though, that is the question?
southern spur - January 15th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
yeah jenas out, ive never quite understood why every single spurs manager seems to love him so much when in the last two seasons ive seen him perform to a premiership standard once! with appiah doing well last night it looks like he is pretty much a done deal so thats an instant improvement (fingers crossed) so get anything we can for jenas whilste teams like everton are still stupid enough to want him.
RAY TALBOT - January 15th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
Rather Adriano then Jenas anytime, why not give amazing youngsters like Taarabt and Dos Santos much more playing time, they will become sensations. I was never a big fan of HR always been a middle of the table manager, his okay for saving relegation and the occasional minor KO cup but thats all.
Dom - January 15th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
Who the hell are spurs? Why would anybody go there…
Its a small team struggling at the bottom of the table!
Dave Stopher - January 15th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
Like too see Adriano in the Premier League!!
stevey - January 15th, 2009 at 3:00 pm

shadowthfc - January 15th, 2009 at 3:41 pm
Spurs offer of £14million been accepted by wigan for wilson - he is coming for a medical and might be all done by tomorrow so he can play against Portsmouth - 1 other club is also in the frame and he has the choice.
Wigan4life - January 15th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
oh shadowthfc so you think he will choose spuds over manure. You’re having a laugh matey boy.
And before you chuick one in stevey just look at the table. Spuds are small club destined to be in Championship next season.
Billykickingboots - January 15th, 2009 at 5:13 pm
WIGAN, enjoy your moment, it will not last. You SMALL club monkeys make me laugh, take your money and run, your better known for rugby.
shadowthfc - January 15th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
wigan4life - I never mentioned anything about him joining spurs over manure - I am just saying an offer has been accepted and he is having a medical - I am hardly having a laugh about it - stop being so defensive and get off your high horse about Spurs being a small club - boring. COYS.
matt - January 15th, 2009 at 5:56 pm

Herve Bonnier - January 15th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
And the spuds are going down to the championship.
Blues 4 ever - January 16th, 2009 at 3:56 am
Well spurs are my second favorite team and i’m really happy harry’s come in , first of all i think they are gonna be in the 7 to 9 place come end of season if not higher, lettin go of berba and keane was the biggest mistake, they need a proper center forward to work in conjunction with defoe or pav or bent , mid field is wicked no changes there, defensively mayb they should’ve got bridge , keeper def need someone neurer, ustari mayb but tht is the managers choice but BLUES GONNA WIN THIS SEASON
Dom - January 16th, 2009 at 9:16 am
Tottenham getting Adriano?
You Yids need to wake up and smell the relegation.
What you need to do is come to terms with championship football
southern spur - January 16th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
Dom your entitled to you opinion so fair enough but do you really think spurs are amongst one of the 3 worst teams in this league? we may be in the shit at the moment but one win could take us to 14th. its just so close at the bottom right now and spurs are far better than the majority we are struggling with.
Palacios is good business though a little expensive in my opinion, jenas going to inter would bring the biggest smile to my face however if we sign craig bellamy i will be absolutely gutted! useless striker who cant hit a barn door.
southern spur - January 16th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
I mean we could move up to 11th, my bad
Herve Bonnier - January 16th, 2009 at 12:58 pm
Southern spur, I understand that the Spurs-fans like to think of the league table as some kind of a random collection of numbers, but the truth of the matter is that it is actually based on real results rather than potential. Looking at said table you should be able to figure that the Spurs are far from being “far better” than the majority of the teams in the lower half of the table. You may have a few decent players, some lofty goals and a bit of potential, but that all comes to nothing when you average less than a point per game.
You’re right that with the right results you could move several spots up the table, but on the other hand you could just as easily be right back in the last place come Sunday evening.
abbeyid - January 17th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
If you read the paper upside down we are top of the league.
anon - January 18th, 2009 at 8:38 am
spurs56
I thought that Modric was your midfielder who could unlock defences and make the killer pass? No? Good player but not better than Fabregas as claimed by so many supporters.
Tha fact is Jenas is a player who will always play for a club like Tottenham. A world class player like Adriano or Podolski will NOT go to Spurs because you arent any good. You dont finish in the top half of the table and you will go very close to being relegated this season.
Don’t worry, I’m sure 09/10 will be Spurs seasons, and the sad thing is so do you. I guess a Sunday afternoon derby against QPR will be nice though, wont it?
gunner - January 19th, 2009 at 12:33 pm
