Tottenham manager delighted after striker signs from Liverpool: Do the fans feel the same way?

Listening to TalkSPORT last night, the general consensus among Tottenham supporters was that their latest signing needed to prove himself at White Hart Lane – all over again! There don’t appear to be many who will welcome back this striker with open arms, especially as he was perceived to have left them in the lurch this summer.

While Dimitar Berbatov has thrived at Manchester United this season, Robbie Keane has struggled in a Liverpool shirt, so it’s barely a surprise to see him ‘do a Defoe’ and re-sign for his former club. The Guardian reports that Harry Redknapp considers him a ‘triffic’ player who can help Tottenham out of their current mess at the bottom of the Premier League.

The Spurs manager Harry Redknapp admitted he was “thrilled and delighted” to have secured Keane’s purchase, with the player joining Jermain Defoe and Pascal Chimbonda in returning to the club during this transfer window as the Spurs manager effectively reassembles the squad that excelled briefly under Martin Jol. “He is a terrific player and can make all the difference,” said Redknapp.

Tottenham fans, are you happy to see Robbie Keane back at the club? Are you one of those supporters who is still a bit peeved with the Irishman’s decision to leave WHL in the summer, but will quickly forget all that when he starts banging in the goals for his new / old club? Surely he’s a quality asset for Spurs, never mind the history.
