Everton striker ‘thrown out of training’ after swearing at the manager

Not the news that Toffees supporters want to be reading on the eve of this season’s fourth Merseyside derby. It appears that David Moyes and one of his Everton forwards have had a training ground bust-up which could well mean this player doesn’t feature against the Reds on Wednesday evening.

OK, so it’s hardly the most reliable of sources, but The Sun claim that Victor Anichebe has been told to do one by the gaffer after the Nigerian told him to f*** off. It’s possibly only a storm in a teacup, although Moyes does not strike us as someone who will tolerate dissent in the ranks! As always, this tabloid has a trusty friend of the player on hand to descibe exactly what happened.

A friend said: “Victor was already very upset he hadn’t been starting matches.

“It must have been the last straw when the deal (to Hull) failed to go through. He saw it as Everton who were stopping him from leaving.

“When he turned up for training he flatly refused to get changed and then had a huge row with assistant manager Steve Round.

“The players were on the way out to training when Steve went to get David Moyes.

“When he came in it all kicked off. They were swearing at each other and Victor told him to ‘f*** off’.

“That’s when Moyes told him to leave and asked two members of the medical staff to make sure Victor left the premises.”

Has this set-to brought an end to Anichebe’s Everton career? Although he’s only a fringe player at the moment, the Nigerian is thought to have a bright future ahead of him, especially as he’s only 20 years of age. Would Toffees fans like to see him remain at Goodison Park, or is he simply not good enough to play at the top level?
