Liverpool target AWESOME winger for the future: He has the pace to be something SPECIAL!
by offsidetrap on February 12th, 2009 9 commentsIt’s never too early to start looking at young talent, and from the looks of it, Liverpool would agree. Scout at the club have gone south and reportedly found someone special. Could he be Liverpool’s winger of the future? One can only hope!
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Barcelona’s 14 year-old wonderkid Gerard Deulofeu.
A pacy, technical and elegant left winger who can also play on the right flank, the teenager is blessed with slick control, skills in abundance, great pace and a fantastic finish. (Daily Mirror)
Like most promising teens in Spain, Deulofeu is being called the “new Ronaldinho.” Judging from this video, that comparsion doesn’t seem too far fetched! Given his young age, there’s a good chance he wouldn’t feature for some time; however, Rafa’s scouts have proven that their eye for talent is bang-on most of the time. It might be worth it to take a punt on this 14 year-old if Barca are willing to part with him.

How the hell can a 14 year old be labeled awesome?
wasn’t that cocksucker pennant called ‘awesome’ when he was 14?
fine to buy this kid off barca, but right now we need to buy established ‘awesome’ players, such as David Villa.

he has good dribbling skills, but he hardly ever produces an end product, in the first game he had about 4 chances and wasted them all, besides calling a 14 year old awesome and linking him with liverpool is abit rich, just because he looks good against other 14/15 year olds doesnt mean he’s premier league class.

by the time he could play in the premiere league, rafa would already be sacked. good buy, rafa. GO FOR DAVID VILLA DAMNIT.

oh he’s class alright. i saw him play earlier this year in a tournament in spain. he scored six in one game and set up another two. he glides effortlessly past people with pace that doesn’t seem quick, until he’s 20 yards past someone in 2 seconds. having watched the academy many times this season i can say that he is a mile above the standard of our best 18 yr olds. in a year he’d be a regular in the reserves, by the time he’s 18 he may be pushing for a first team start. go for him. it wouldn’t cost anything apart from a bit of compensation.

We can sign him for free as Spanish youth can not sign a contract if 18 and below!
