Arsenal STRIKER claims he’s still waiting for an APOLOGY: What’s taking this player so long?
by offsidetrap on February 18th, 2009 251 words | 5 commentsArsenal striker, Eduardo, made a massive mark on his club in his first match since coming back from an horrific ankle injury. But even with the pain behind him, the Brazilian-born player says there’s still something that bothers him. That would be the fact that Birmingham’s Martin Taylor has still not apologised to the striker for the incident.
”Some friends told me he was saying he’d spoken to me – but he never did. I’ve never met him,” said Eduardo. “And someone at Arsenal received an email from him when I played for the reserves at Barnet a short while back and it said he was pleased I was playing again.
”I have received lots of mail from other people. I’ve had around 25,000 emails – from Croatia, Brazil and England – wishing me a speedy recovery and I’ve had letters by the sack-full. But he’s never sent anything directly to me.” (ESPN Soccernet)
Other reports say that Taylor was at the hospital, but that Eduardo was under heavy medication when he came by. Regardless, this story appears to still be running on fumes. If this was such a big issue now, wouldn’t it make more sense for Taylor to just give him a call and give his apology through an interpreter if the language barrier is the only issue? It would make sense; plus, it would put this whole issue to bed.
What do Arsenal supporters think?

What do Arsenal supporters think? We this one thinks that it’s a nonense story where the press are trying to create a bit of beef where there needn’t be. Accidents happen, Taylor was probably a bit over aggressive but I seriously doubt he went in to break Eduardo’s leg.
Where does Eduardo say that it is bothering him about Taylor not getting in contact? He was probably asked about Taylor in an interview and this was his response. Taylor said he went to see Eduardo straight after it happened and that he was so out of it on the pain killling drugs that he doubts Eduardo would remember. So there you go, it’s a non story, stop shit stirring!!!!!

i agree that taylor was not looking to break anyone’s leg, but with the way people play arsenal this days, trying to get a piece of the player everytime, referees being so lenient, it was bound to happen sometime soon, if you ask me, referees’ fault.

it was a derty challenge n was dealt with correctly. but i agree with G officials need to start picking up on players who continuously make bad challenges, n also i might be a bit bias here as i watch most arsneal games but it seems refs book arsenal players for little things all the time but wen a player completely fucks up an arsenal player he jus gets a warning… i thought it was jus me at first but it happens almost every game. i think we r jus hated by everyone
