Unless you are a wearer of blue-and-black-tinted spectacles, it was pretty clear which team was most dominant on Tuesday night. Manchester United could have been 2-0 or 3-0 up by half-time, with the Red Devils toying with a team who looked anything like the champions of Italy. Nevertheless, this player has conveniently decided to see the game differently.
Setanta report that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has refrained from holding his hands up and admitting that Manchester United are the better team. Instead, the Swede has taken a leaf out of his manager’s book and claimed that it was an evenly-matched contest and it’s all to play for at Old Trafford!
“We have a 100 percent chance of qualifying,” he told the club’s official website.
“We go to Manchester with two results out of three in our favour. We didn’t manage to take the lead but we stopped them from scoring, and this certainly isn’t a disadvantage.
“It was a wonderful match tonight. The first half was theirs but the second was ours. Manchester are a great team but so are we.
“We matched them blow for blow tonight, now we will go to Manchester to win.”
Most Manchester United fans will see things differently, with the Red Devils bossing the match for the most part, missing a series of chances that came their way. Surely if they repeat their San Siro performance at Old Trafford, they will cruise through against a team who looked lacklustre on Tuesday night.
