I’m sure many of us have been wondering how Sir Alex Ferguson will cope if Carlos Tevez leaves Old Trafford this summer. After all, Cristiano Ronaldo, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney all have a terrible first touch and have struggled to score goals this season.
Never fear though Manchester United supporters, because help is seemingly at hand. If the Red Devils don’t manage to keep hold of someone who is probably surplus to requirements anyway, The Sun reports that they are leading the chase for Mario Gomez, a player who was pretty pretty poor during Euro 2008. Good work as usual from this tabloid!
MANCHESTER UNITED could swoop for German striker Mario Gomez — if Carlos Tevez quits the club.
The Stuttgart striker has scored 13 goals in 19 games for the Bundesliga outfit this season and his form has caught the eye of United boss Alex Ferguson.
But Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos is also said to be keen on the 23-year-old, who has a £30million buy-out clause in his contract.
According to German newspaper Bild, Ferguson has had Gomez watched on numerous occasions this season.
Well if the Sun report that Bild have seen the Scot up in the stands at Stuttgart this season, then it must be true! Do Manchester United supporters like the look of this player, or would they prefer to keep hold of the fabulous workaholic that is Carlos Tevez? Apparently there is just one blade of grass that the Argentine has failed to touch with his boots at Old Trafford this season.
