Both managers have a few dilemmas when it comes to picking the eleven players that will line up at Wembley on Sunday. After a 2-1 win over Hull City on Monday, Spurs now have a bit of breathing space in the Premier League, and Harry Redknapp can pick what he thinks is his strongest side to face the mighty Manchester United.
But who will the Tottenham gaffer pick? The Daily Telegraph reports that he’s got quite a few options in various positions, especially after Jamie O’Hara impressed at home to Shakhtar on Thursday. Has the youngster done enough to earn a starting berth against the Red Devils, and should Michael Dawson line up in central defence instead of Ledley King?
“Tom Huddlestone was great, Jamie O’Hara was outstanding in his first game back for a month. Jon Obika never stopped working and showed strength. It was encouraging. I couldn’t have asked for more.”
Now Redknapp has key decisions to make. He added: “Tom has never been out of it, Jamie has had an injury or he would have been in my team. He was top class. He’s had a groin problem and it’s how he reacts to it after this game.”
Tottenham supporters, which team would you put out on Sunday afternoon? Would you employ a 4-4-2 formation with Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent up top, or would you pack out the midfield in a 4-5-1 formation and try to catch the champions on the break? It’s pretty hard to call the XI that will be lining up.
